MacGyver 502 finds the team blackmailing a former cat burglar to help them retrieve a deadly bioweapon.

Terrorist Hannibal(Supernatural’s Sebastian Roché) has a vial of deadly bioweapon Viro 486. He kills an MI6 agent named Rebecca Meyers(Michelle Lukes) to film the effects for its potential buyers.
He’s no angel.

The Cat Burglar
Jess Miller(Aimee Mullins)* is being followed. She is on her bike, and as she is wearing bike shorts, we see she has an artificial limb. She escapes her attackers, and locks herself in her house.
It’s MacGyver(Lucas Till). MacGyver and Riley(Tristin Mays) have been following her. She is a crafty former cat burglar, and Phoenix needs her. The Viro-486 is going to be used at a climate summit, and only her skills can get them to the safe where it is contained. Matty(Meredith Eaton) reveals that she knows how Jess lost her leg-a heist gone wrong. Matty offers her life in prison, or a job. Jess takes the job.
The Training
Jess must train Desi(Levy Tran) to infiltrate Hannibal’s home. She only has weeks to get Desi into shape. Desi must bypass infrared beams, learn to control her breathing, and crack the safe. Luckily, it’s Desi. Unluckily, the time to train is cut short.

Cracking the Safe
Desi breaks in, and expertly navigates the traps set up. Opening the vault, however, finds it empty. Hannibal has moved the bioweapon. Narrowly escaping Hannibal’s guards, the crew escapes. We find out that Rebecca was Russ’s(Henry Ian Cusick) protégé. Her death affected him deeply. He blames himself, but MacGyver reminds him that he has saved so many by keeping the team together.
Bozer(Justin Hires) and Riley discover a guest at Hannibal’s house is a forger. He has forged a Rembrandt. The poison is being suspended in its paint until the terrorist group can buy the painting and distill the poison from it. The painting is in Moscow, and the team needs to replace it with another forgery. Luckily, Jess knows a guy on the way.

Moscow
Using Mylar and the art of illusion, the team gets in to replace the painting in under ten seconds. Russ is able to get justice, and a punch in Hannibal’s face.
The team leaves, and MacGyver reveals to Jess that he knows that she is still burglarizing. But he tells her not to worry, he’ll love all the fun of catching her.
The Truth
The team raises a toast to Rebecca, and Russ meets her parents to tell them the truth about what she did for a living. They comfort each other, giving Russ peace.
*I really like Jess! I hope we see more of her.
