The Drama and Suspense In This Week’s All New Episode of Guilt  – A Simple Plan Had Us All Breathless And Longing For More

Warning: This article contains spoilers from this week’s episode of Guilt

The twist and turns on this week’s episode of Guilt – A Simple Plan wasn’t very simple at all. Gwen (Naomi Ryan) interrogates Luc (Zachary Fall) in an attempt to connect Grace (Daisy Head) to Molly’s (Rebekah Wainwright) murder, and Grace teams up with Roz (Simona Brown) to direct the police toward a different suspect. Meanwhile, Kaley (Amber Jean Rowan) and Patrick (Kevin Ryan) work together to get Finch (Michael Lindall) off their backs, and Detective Bruno (Cristian Solimeno) discovers a key piece of information about the night of Molly’s murder that leads to an arrest.

Grace, Roz and Natalie Trick Finch

The episode begins with Finch tracking Kaley down and threatening her. He shows her the client who snuck Patrick into the sex club and killed the guy in front of her. Finch tells Kaley that she will be next unless she finds the ledger Patrick stole from him.

Luc still in custody, with Gwen is preparing to interrogate him. She tells him that she suspected Grace was the killer all along, but now she believes Grace and Luc killed Molly together. She shows him some evidence she claims makes it clear that there were two people in the room when Molly was killed. (Bruno later points out that Gwen lied about what this blood splatter evidence showed.) Luc doesn’t fall for any of it and just keeps sticking to his story (the love or guilt is strong with him).

While Luc is being questioned by Gwen, Grace and Natalie are at the night club having a good time or blowing off steam as Grace put it. Their fun doesn’t last long, as Stan calls Natalie to tell her that Gwen is interrogating Luc. When Natalie fills Grace in, Grace freaks out. She believes Gwen is determined to pin Molly’s murder on her, even if she’s innocent. Natalie says she’ll call Bruno (Mr Sexy Cop) to see what he can do, but Grace decides to take matters into her own hands (does she ever think before she leaps).

Grace approaches Roz and tells her about Luc’s interrogation. Grace shares her fears with Roz, that Gwen is trying to pin Molly’s murder on her. Roz then makes it clear that she knows something Grace doesn’t, and Grace questions her until she gives up the information. Roz tells Grace that she panicked after Molly was killed and took Molly’s phone. She also says there were threatening text messages on the phone from Finch. Roz claims that she thinks Finch killed Molly.

Grace wants to take the phone to the cops so they can connect the threatening texts back to Finch, but Roz says Finch has the cops and the politicians in his pocket (he has to right with the kind of club(s) he runs he does know “things” right?). Grace comes up with another idea. She thinks they should turn Molly’s phone on and lead the cops straight to Finch. Roz points out that if they try to cozy up to Finch, he will know something is up. Grace suggests they use someone Finch doesn’t know. Enter Natalie.

After getting nowhere with Bruno — he has apparently decided that his feelings for Natalie are causing him to cross too many lines — Natalie learns about Grace and Roz’s plan. At first, Natalie wants nothing to do with it, but Grace convinces her that this is a way to clear her name so they can go home.

Natalie gets Finch’s attention (asking him if he wants to drink his sorrows away in his Chivas), he takes the bait and invites her up to his office so they can be alone. She is with this guy, who we know to be a murderer, way too long for my liking and making my skin crawl. Someone comes to the rescue so to speak and sets the fire alarm off, and it distracts him. When Finch goes to check it out, Natalie grabs his car keys and tosses them down to Grace. Grace uses the keys to get into Finch’s car so she can plant Molly’s phone on him. Yeah Natalie thinks they are just turning it on, and not planting it actually.

While Grace plants the phone and turns it on, Natalie discovers a camera in Finch’s office. He apparently tapes the women who join him in his office for sexy time. Natalie finds the tapes, and there is one of Grace (who is shocked by this? I know I am not). She takes the tape of Grace, puts Finch’s keys back where she got them and splits before Finch catches her. Natalie and Grace get away safely.

Bruno Gets Luc to Break

Gwen continues questioning Luc, but Luc will not say anything against the woman he loves. Gwen says that this is a pattern for him because he lied for his mother when he was a kid. She was abusive and neglectful, yet Luc lied to the authorities and fought to stay with her all the same. Gwen thinks he’s lying for Grace the way he once lied for his mom.

Gwen’s interrogation is interrupted when Stan shows up. Stan wants to see Luc, but Gwen points out that Stan is defending Luc on the drug charges and her questioning has nothing to do with that. I really enjoy these little exchanges between Gwen and Stan. I hope they continue to go up against one another until Molly’s murder is solved.

Bruno watches Gwen question Luc and sees that she is getting nowhere. Bruno tells Gwen that Luc saw through her manufactured blood splatter evidence and asks her to let him take a crack at breaking Luc.

Despite Bruno no longer being on Molly’s case, Gwen lets Bruno question Luc. Bruno badgers Luc with question after question until Luc gives up an important detail. Luc reveals that he heard a street sweeper pass by that night when Grace left the roof to go use the bathroom. Bruno knows for a fact the street sweeper was there about a half hour before Molly’s murder, which means that Grace had to have been downstairs for a while in order to get Molly’s blood on her feet. Bruno eventually gets Luc to admit that Grace was gone for close to an hour the night Molly was murdered.

Gwen is so impressed with Bruno’s work that she puts him back on the case. She then tells him to go arrest Grace for Molly’s murder.

Kaley Goes to Patrick for Help

After the incident with Finch, Kaley runs straight to Patrick in fear for her life. She tells him what happened and says that Finch will kill them both if Patrick doesn’t hand over the ledger.

Later, Kaley asks Patrick what he discovered thanks to the ledger, and Patrick says he learned that Molly only had one client for the past few months — Gentleman 33. He asks Kaley if she knows who that is, and Kaley says she doesn’t because she always has to wear a blindfold when she meets with the guy. Patrick thinks Gentleman 33 got Molly pregnant and then killed her to keep it quiet. Kaley tries to turn Patrick’s suspicion onto Finch, but Patrick knows that Molly’s murder was personal so he is betting on Gentleman 33 as the murderer.

Kaley is worried about Finch coming after them, but Patrick assures her that he will keep her safe. He still feels guilty over not protecting his little sister, so he is determined to make sure nothing happens to Kaley. Kaley is so moved by his desire to protect her that she decides to sleep with him.

Kaley goes back to the club and gives Finch the client ledger. She also tells him that the guy who stole it is Molly’s brother and gives him the address of the houseboat that Patrick has been staying on. Finch and his henchmen get to the houseboat, but Patrick is already gone.

Grace is Taken into Custody

Stan finally gets in to see Luc, but Luc has already given up Grace. Gwen tells Stan that she is issuing an arrest warrant to bring Grace in for Molly’s murder.

After Natalie watches a portion of the tape of Grace putting on a little show for Finch, she gets a call from Stan that the police are coming to arrest Grace. Things gets really awkward when Bruno shows up to take Grace into custody.

As Bruno arrests Grace for Molly’s murder, Bruno’s partner realizes that they got a hit on Molly’s phone. Will they now turn their attention to Finch as Molly’s killer? Will they decide that Grace and Finch were in on it together?

Prince Theo Slips Up

In other news, Prince Theo has a nightmare about Molly. In the dream, Theo knows that Molly is pregnant and wants her to “get rid of it.” Molly refuses, and Theo attacks her. He wakes up screaming Molly’s name, and his fiancée is clearly confused. She asks him who Molly is. Theo then gives her some sob story about bonding with a dog named Molly when he was a kid.

Theo claims he had no other friends when he was little, so Molly the dog was the one he told his secrets to. He also says that he found Molly’s body after she had been killed and there was so much blood. Theo’s fiancée is quick to comfort him, but when she questions his right-hand man later that night, she figures out that Molly wasn’t a dog after all.

My Takeaways:

  • Is Gwen right about why Luc is covering for Grace or was Luc involved in whatever Grace got up to that night?
  • Does Roz actually believe that Finch killed Molly or does she just want Finch out of the picture so he doesn’t come after her for the Patrick situation?
  • Will Luc’s interrogation stand up? Didn’t he ask where Stan was before Gwen started grilling him?
  • I think Bruno is still convinced that Luc killed Molly. After-all he acts beyond shady right?
  • Now that Bruno has arrested Grace, is this the end of his relationship with Natalie? (I loved their chemistry)
  • I assume Patrick and Kaley came up with this plan to lure Finch to the houseboat together as a way to get Finch off their backs so Patrick can continue to look for Molly’s killer. But then where does that leave Roz? Roz has no love for Finch, but she has a stake in the sex club and she knows the identity of Gentleman 33. Where does she fit into Patrick and Kaley’s plan?
  • Do you think Kaley has real feelings for Patrick
  • Are Patrick and Kaley a ship now?
  • Did Theo actually find Molly’s body at some point, but does this mean he killed her?
  • Are you surprised that Bruno got Luc to break?
  • Are you surprised that Grace was arrested? Do you think Grace actually had something to do with Molly’s murder?
  • Does Patrick know that Roz can lead him to Gentleman 33?
  • Will Prince Theo’s fiancee realize that Theo was dreaming about the Molly who was recently murdered?
