Review: DC’s Legends of Tomorrow 603: The Ex-Factor
DC’s Legends of Tomorrow 603: The Ex-Factor: The Legends travel to 2045 to find an alien that may help them find Sara(Caity Lotz), and Zari(Tala Ashe) ends up entering a singing contest to save the world. Constantine(Matt Ryan) and Zari have a bump in the road with their relationship.
Spoilers!
The Alien in 2045
Nate(Nick Zano): The Rock’s the President? Please tell me John Cena’s the Chief of Staff.
In 2045, the alien Knoxacrillion(voiced by Andrew Morgado) enters a singing contest, mistaking it for a way to world domination. Knoxacrillion keeps on winning, and the Legends realize that they have to stop him/it.
On a Weird Planet With Gary
Sara, trapped with Gary(Adam Tsekhman), is sorely wounded. The planet is covered with military types, trying to catch Sara. Gary shows his true form, devouring several. Then it is revealed that all of the agents are Ava clones. Gary is frustrated because she tasted so good. Sara meets a stranger that tells her he has been waiting to meet her for a long time.
Spooner
Spooner(Lisseth Chavez) is settling in nicely, but she does mess up Behrad’s(Shayan Sobhian) crystals. Which Knoxacrillion reveals is how its race procreates-with crystals. Knoxacrillion is captured briefly by the Legends, but his tech is superior, and he escapes back to the competition.
Rory
Rory(Dominic Purcell) is having a tough time without Sara. He berates Ava(Jes Macallan), butts heads with Spooner, and nearly causes the destruction of the planet with his rash actions.
Zari and Constantine
Zari’s vapid nature, and worry over her brand in her own timeline of 2045 rubs Constantine the wrong way. She makes him dress like a goth to appear on the talent show, and then he overhears Zari tell her mother that he meant nothing to her. Constantine storms off the set mid-interview.
The Final Showdown
Zari’s ex, DJ D’Smore Money(Ryan Bell) is running the talent show, and sets her up by giving Knoxacrillion the same song he gave her. It sings first, and ruins Zari’s chance of winning.
At the last second, Constantine comes on stage, playing guitar and singing backup, and the emotional song Zari picks wins the show.
Sadly, Knoxacrillion has no idea about Sara, but tells them who to search for.
Thoughts on Legends 603
Constantine may not have liked looking like “that tosser, Criss Angel,” but damn, we ladies did not complain about his version.
Not getting how Zari has a problem with relationships like John when she was engaged previously. She doesn’t seem like the type of person to have flings.
Loved Rory in this episode.
Nate with the funny lines, as always. That’s not an insult or mocking; Nate is very smart, and he sees things differently.
