Legends of Tomorrow 507: Romeo V. Juliet: Dawn of Justness
Legends of Tomorrow 507: Romeo V. Juliet: Dawn of Justness sends off Brandon Routh and Courtney Ford in a bittersweet episode about friendship and how friends are the family you choose. Also, the cast wears lots of black(I theorize in protest to the powers that be letting Brandon and Courtney go).
An Announcement While We Wait to Go
Remembering what Damien told him as he looks at mementos from past missions, Ray(Brandon Routh) decides to leave the Legends so Nora(Courtney Ford) can pursue her work as a fairy godmother. He doesn’t have to call a team meeting because Zari(Tala Ashe) is in the bathroom, and there’s a line.
Before he can say anything, everyone tells their secrets. Mick(Dominic Purcell) guesses what Ray is going to say anyway, but Nate(Nick Zano) isn’t there to hear the news. Ray finds that he can’t tell him-yet.
Romeo, Juliet, and a Loom
Charlie(Maisie Richardson-Sellers) reveals that the first part of the loom of fate is in Elizabethan England, and is held by Shakespeare(Rowan Schlosberg) in the form of a gold ring.
Sara(Caity Lotz) sends them off with a reallllly bad fake English accent. Constantine(Matt Ryan) is not amused.
When they arrive, Shakespeare tells Charlie that he no longer has the ring, that he gave it to Philip Henslowe (Art Kitching) to buy more time to finish Romeo and Juliet.
While Nate drives Ray to tears with his elaborate plan to recover the ring, Charlie just steals it.
Realizing the mission is over, Ray is saddened, but Nate decides to give him an Elizabethan Bachelor party after the wedding. Lying to Sara about not having the ring, the men and Charlie stay in Elizabethan England.
Really bad hijinks ensue, and Shakespeare rewrites Romeo and Juliet to include Nate, Behrad(Shayan Sobhian), Ray and Mick, all using their powers.
The First Rule of Book Club
The girls(Mona[Ramona Young] is visiting) invite Zari to join the book club.
It has nothing to do with books, she learns. Unwilling to open up to her new friends, Zari suggests a wedding shower for Nora.
There’s a fireman stripper(Liam Howe), Nora gets a pony for herself, scooters, dancing…and Shakespeare’s works in a book changing the cover before their eyes.
Time to Rewrite the Rewrite
The crew returns to the ship. Sara gives them crap for the screw up. Except she is slightly tipsy, and can’t say “history” correctly. Before they go, she and Ray have a heart to heart.
Mobilizing the whole team, Nate gathers the new scripts. At a pub, Shakespeare reveals that Henslowe has shut his production down, and that he no longer wants to write. Ray tells him that endings can be hard, and that he will soon be leaving his friends. Nate overhears, and leaves before Ray can see him.
Ray is confronted by Nate, who then tells Ray to leave, that the team has it handled.
Sara moves forward with the play, with the crew as the cast. Using the original play, the show goes on.
Astra
In hell, Astra(Olivia Swann) tells the Coin Maker(Sarah Strange) that John is now helping her, and that he can bring her mother back. Jealous, as she was the one who raised Astra, the Coin Maker goads her into spying on John and finding out how he plans to make good his promise. Using a magic mirror, she sees John and hears his plan.
Astra didn’t, however, plan on John sensing her presence. John sends her back to hell, knocking her out.
Astra gets sent back to hell.
Reconciling and Goodbye
As Juliet, Nate realizes during her balcony scene that he needs to see Ray and say goodbye properly.
He catches him just in time, and the two share a heartfelt goodbye.
Who knew Zari was a classically trained actress? She takes over for Nate as Juliet, and the whole crew ends up winning the crowd-and Shakespeare-over, prompting to write again.
The Ring
Charlie reveals the loom is in the form of a ring, because no mortal can look upon it. Sara takes the ring before John can snatch it, and tells him that putting the loom back together is everyone’s mission, now.
A Toast to Ray
Back aboard the Waverider(voiced by Amy Louise Pemberton), no one can sleep. Around the kitchen table, the crew makes one last toast to Ray with his favorite juice, then promptly race to the bathroom because it tastes awful-except to Zari.
The Coin Maker’s Plan
Astra awakens and tells the Coin Maker John’s plan. The Coin Maker tells Astra that she should cut John out entirely, and find it herself.
