Reacher – Official Trailer

The official trailer for Amazon Prime’s brand new Reacher series, starring Alan Ritchson as the titular character, has landed. And it’s fricking AWESOME!

As  well as being a series of books, you might know the character of Jack Reacher from the movies starring Tom Cruise. That wasn’t really Reacher. When your main character is described as blonde, 6 foot 5 inches tall, 250 pounds, and brutally proficient in hand to hand combat – Tom Cruise is not who comes to mind. Alan Ritchson (Smallville, Titans) on the other hand – absolutely. And judging by the trailer he is pretty spot on as far as physical casting goes. If you are familiar with Alan, either from his other roles or his instagram, you’ll know he’s got a knack for humour as well as being a badass. Both are on display equally in the trailer.

There’s a LOT to appreciate here. The action looks bone-crunching, and I know that a favourite action director of mine – Emjay Bassett (Strike Back, Altered Carbon) – directed the season finale, so I am pretty hopeful. Also, from a total fangirl standpoint – can we talk about him opening that beer bottle with his fricking bicep? Good lord!

A quick glance at the cast list on IMDb shows a host of familiar names, including Alan’s Smallville cast mate Kristin Kreuk, Bruce McGill as the town mayor, and Harvey Guillén (What We Do In The Shadows).

General opinion here at FANdemonium Towers is roll on Feb 4th, and we will be back after the premiere to chat about it. Join us then!

Hey, I'm Clare, aka Ciara or C. My current fandoms are RWBY and The Last Kingdom along with a bunch of other stuff I tend to let build up and then binge! I'm a keen, albeit amateur, cosplayer and love attending cons in various cosplays. I'm also the resident comic book girl around these parts, especially small press comics, so if you've got an indie book you want reviewed, I'm your gal! When I'm not doing the fangirl thing I am a keen long-distance hiker, having completed Te Araroa in New Zealand and The Pacific Crest Trail on the West Coast of the US.
