The Perfect Date – Review

Laura Marano, Noah Centineo

Netflix blessed us with another Teenie Rom-com with the handsome and uprising star Noah Centineo. Keep reading to learn more about the movie and to read our exclusive review! Enjoy!

What’s The Perfect Date about?

Centineo plays Brooks Rattigan, a high-achieving working-class kid who dreams of going to Yale so that he can change the world in some yet-to-be-determined manner. To make enough money to pay for an Ivy League tuition, Brooks begins renting himself out as a non-sexual escort: In exchange for a reasonable fee, he lets girls choose his personality for the evening and sculpt him into their perfect date. In a rapid-fire montage, he becomes a salsa dancer, an art history major, a jerk, a prep and a lot more.

Review

With Noah Centineo Netflix does another Teen Movie with the To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before star and it’s nice to watch but nothing too special.

We got a normal teenager who works hard to get the best grades and to save money to have a chance to go to his dream university Yale. He’s not rich and his father can’t afford to get him to Yale. With this twist that whole story begins.

As the story continues Brooks overhears his school colleague, talking about getting paid for going out with his cousin Celia (portrait by Laura Marano). As Brooks can use the money he steps in and offers to go out with Celia. We get an awkward but funny date with those two and that was that for the moment.

Throughout the movie, Brooks starts his non-sexual escort service and changes into many different kind of characters. While getting his money together he looses himself and doesn’t know where to go from there.

I will leave you with this because otherwise you don’t have to watch the movie anymore 😉

Noah Centineo plays the perfect first date material and as we all know from his movies before he has that special look on girls. He’s the perfect man for that role and plays it perfectly, Laura Marano is giving her funniest and cutest acting and works perfectly with Centineo. For all the Riverdale fans out there.. the lovely Camila Mendes shows up in the movie as well.

All in one The Perfect Date is a good watch with a few laughs and some “aaaaaaaaw” moments. It’s not a movie that sticks in your mind forever but it’s worth watching for sure. So if you got a rainy Sunday and nothing to do, give that movie a chance.
