No, not Sam Bradley. You all know I could go on and on and on about Sam Bradley.
And no Sam Heughan, the hot Scot that plays Jamie Fraser in the Starz Outlander series. Yet again, I could go on and on about how he looks in and out of that kilt he wears. Hot damn. Did you see the wedding episode? When he…… Oh damn, I got side tracked…
Oh yeah, back to Sam Smith – oddly enough, another English singer/songwriter.
Before I hit you with the music, let me hit you with the facts.
Samuel Fredrick Smith was born in London, England in May of 1992. He has been in the musical spotlight for the past 2 years. Believe it or not, the song “Latch” he is featured on came out in October of 2012. As with most things that come from the other side of the pond, it takes its time making it to the USA. But now that he is here, he is taking the US by storm. With appearances on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and Saturday Night Live in the beginning of the year, and now on November 5th, his album “In the Lonely Hour” is the second best-selling album in 2014, according to the Billboard 200, only being out sold by Taylor Swift’s newly released 1989.

I am really feeling this guy’s vocal style. He reminds me of some old school Motown artists from the 60-70’s era. So soulful. So bluesy. So full of feelings that you’re able to feel what he’s putting it out there. One of my favorites songs is “I’m Not the Only One”. When he sings “you say I’m crazy ’cause you don’t think I know what you’ve done, but when you call me baby, I know I’m not the only one”… That hits home. If this is where he is just beginning, I can’t wait to see where he takes us.
