A Mixed Bag
Today’s Music Monday post is three and half new videos; two you have heard of and one you haven’t; A Mixed Bag. I have recently been having more free time on my hands and so I have listened to some new stuff. Figured I would share them with you, those random few that read my random music blog post…HI MOM!
I am gonna hit you with the one you most likely have never heard of, The Blancos. Seriously don’t sleep on them, they are on point and they could be really big. They’ve got that something different that we need in the music world right now.
The Blancos
I was introduced to The Blancos by my friend Tammy. She is really into indy music and she always sends me bands and singers to check out. I will be honest, some I listen to and love. Others I am not a fan. But when she sent me a video clips of The Blancos, frontman, Cory Hueston I was sold. This man’s voice is hauntingly beautiful. So much soul and pain in his voice. He makes me feel things. Last week they released a new song and video for “Know My Know”.
The Two You Know
Now I am gonna hit you with some not so new kids on the block. Both have been around for a few years now and it seems they aren’t going anywhere time soon. Will Smith and Jennifer Lopez, both putting out new videos this week.
Will Smith
It’s been a hot minute since we last had a new song from Big Willy Style, Mr. Will Smith himself. But recently he has been all over social media, that is ever since joining instagram a few months ago. He has posted all kinds of crazy stuff: from him dancing with Mark Anthony to paddle boating with Jada to playing pranks. He also released the Fifa World Cup song that also features Nicky Jam, Diplo, and Era Istrefi.
But last week he posted a clip of a song of what seems to be a new single soon to be released. And to quote my friend Tammy, “Will Smith lets all the new rappers come and do their thing and then simply said, ‘Hold my beer!'” He really did bring it the heat.

Seems to be the week for come backs. Last week Jennifer Lopez performed this song on The Billboard Awards show and she already put the video out. I wasn’t sure I liked the song, but now that I have seen this video it is growing on me. I wanna dance to it. Plus I love black and white video. Makes them feel more classy, even if she is in next to nothing most of the video haha. “Dinero” featuring DJ Khaled and Cardi B is sure to be a summer hit.
