Mia Goth has been cast opposite Robert Pattinson in High Life, the English-language debut film for director Claire Denis. While Pattinson has become a fixture in Hollywood, choosing many indie roles in the past few years and attaching himself to seasoned directors, Goth is somewhat new to the scene. She began her acting career in 2013, starring opposite William Defoe in Nymphomaniac: Vol. II and has gone on to play smaller roles in films such as Everest and The Survivalist. Goth recently finished filming A Cure For Wellness, and Pattinson is in the middle of filming The Lost City of Z.
As of now, little has been made known about the movie. However, back in August, the Film & Media Foundation NRW awarded 50,000 euro to support a movie (in development) called “High Life” by Claire Denis, Jean-Pol Fargeau, Zadie Smith and Nick Laird. (Source)
“Jean-Pol Fargeau, Claire Denis, Zadie Smith and Nick Laird write “High Life”. Looking for alternative energy sources, the government is sending spaceships. Since there is little hope of return, it offers highly qualified inmates to participate in the flight and therefore to circumvent their death sentences and long prison sentences. (Producer: Pandora Film, € 50,000)” (Film & Media)
Around the same time as the funding, it was announced that Pattinson would be joining, the then nameless, production.
As of now, no production date has not been announced.
