Marvel cast Tatiana Maslany as She Hulk

According to a report by Deadline, Marvel Studios have cast their She-Hulk for their upcoming Disney+ series. Orphan Black star Tatiana Maslany will play the lead role of Jennifer Walters, A.K.A She-Hulk. The show has also recently hired Kat Coiro as the director for the pilot episode, and several other episodes in the maiden season. The writer’s room will be led by Jessica Gao.

She-Hulk is the last major character that was co-created by Stan Lee for Marvel. In the comics, Jennifer Walters is an attorney and cousin of Bruce Banner, who receives her powers after an emergency blood transfusion from Banner. The character has been able to retain her personality and intelligence whilst transformed, something that took Banner a while to master. As yet, we have no further details on the plot of the Disney+ series.

Cast in the lead role, Tatiana Maslany is best known for her work on Orphan Black for which she won numerous awards. In the show, Maslany portrays the lead character as well as a number of clones, which we’re certain demonstrates her ability to bring the role of Jennifer Walters and She-Hulk to life in a spectacular way. Since her work on Orphan Black, Maslany has seen further success in biographical drama film Stronger, neo-noir crime film Destroyer alongside Nicole Kidman, and as Sister Alice in HBO period drama Perry Mason.

Welcome to the Family

Hulk actor Mark Ruffalo has already publicly commented on Twitter regarding the casting, saying “Welcome to the family, cuz! @tatianamaslany #SheHulk”

We here at Fandemonium Network think this casting is a masterstroke by Marvel executives. Tatiana has proven herself capable of the highest level of acting, and we’re certain she will bring She-Hulk to life wonderfully on the small (and hopefully big) screen.
