Variety.com is reporting that Marisa Tomei is the lead choice to play Aunt May in the next installment of Spiderman. As of now, both Sony and Marvel have not commented on the casting.
Sources revealed that even though they could not say where things in the deal-making process stood, it is rumored that Tomei was made an offer last week to join Tom Holland (Peter Parker) in the upcoming film.
Since Holland is younger than all the past actors who portrayed Peter Parker, it would make sense that they would also get a younger actress to portray the Aunt that raised him.
As of now, the studios are still in the process of finding a writer to join Jon Watts in the screenwriting process. So we will just have to sit back and wait to see what the final decisions are.
