John is Dying
John(Matt Ryan) has terminal cancer. Covered in blood, and fighting, Gideon(voiced by Amy Louise Pemberton) has to sedate him, but not before he gets a cigarette lit. No point in stopping now.
Who is Charlie?
In the Waverider, Charlie(Maisie Richardson-Sellers) hears her sisters calling her. She is really Clotho, one of the weavers of fate.

Ava(Jes Macallan) and Gideon have been working hard on a program to find Encores, but the rest of the team isn’t impressed. They are impressed by Nate’s(Nick Zano) cool scooter, though. He takes Zari(Tala Ashe) for a ride through the ship.

Heading to 1997 Hong Kong, Ava, Behrad(Shayan Sobhian), Charlie, and Nate discover the Encore is Genghis Khan(Terry Chen). He is dealing with the triad(which foreshadows John’s story, just FYI), and a shootout ensues. Khan gets away before Ava can stop him. Shoulda used ALOHA, Ava!
Nate rescues Behrad, but sacrifices his fly scooter in the process.
Steel saves the day.

John Goes to Purgatory
John falls into Purgatory.

John works to summon the demon who sped up his cancer. Falling into his purgatory, he finds it is Astra(Olivia Swann). He tells Astra that whoever is helping her is using her, but Astra doesn’t believe him.
Charlie the Spy
Using Charlie as a spy, the team finds out that Genghis wants to take out Prince Charles as he hands Hong King back to China. They also find his sword is his hellish artifact.

Wishes Won’t Help
Trying to cure John, Nora(Courtney Ford) tries to use her fairy godmother powers to cure him. It doesn’t work, and John goes through his grimoire, searching for help. He rebuffs any help angrily, calling Ray(Brandon Routh) and Gary(Adam Tsekhman) weak and useless. After a talk with his cane(voiced by Robin Atkin Downes), John realizes he needs his friends. Probably because he talks to his cane.

Time is of the essence everywhere, as a large shipment of weapons is heading to Khan.
The team misses the deadline, and the shipment is distributed to Khan’s men.
Scooters.
It’s scooters. Nate is not pleased, and screams his displeasure at Khan, Shatner style.

Back at John’s house, he is apologetic to his two friends, and finds them forgiving. Ray also made a roast.

Charlie Helps Behrad Realize The Limits Of His Powers

Charlie encourages Behrad to use his wind power to stop bullets, and together they stop Khan’s scooter army and send Khan out of Astra’s reach.
Coming clean, Charlie admits she is Clotho, and that her sisters are after her. They will kill anyone helping Charlie. Naturally, the Legends volunteer to help her.

Burning his will, he asks Ray to summon the Waverider.
He has to see a woman about a loom…
