Future Man: Seth Rogen and Josh Hutcherson team up for sci-fi comedy
Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are busy guys. They have Preacher, a comic book TV series for AMC that is still in the works. They also have an animated musical called Sausage Party coming up. Now the pair have added yet another project: Future Man, a science-fiction comedy series for the online platform Hulu and they announced their lead Josh Hutcherson.
Hutcherson who we last saw on the big screen in The Hunger Games has signed to play Josh Futturman who is described as:
“a janitor at a sexual disease research centre called Devlin. Living with his parents, the socially inept, women-phobic man with low self-esteem moonlights as an internationally ranked gamer.”
“His game is Cybergeddon and his signature character is named Future Man”, Collider’s plot description tells us. “After beating the final level, he’s visited by characters from the game who claim Cybergeddon was a training manual. Josh is then tasked with going back in time to help save humanity from an imminent invasion of a super-race.”
Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Kyle Hunter, Ariel Schaffir and Matt Tolmach serve as executive producers on the pilot. Rogen and Goldberg will also direct.
With all these big name talents involved, the pilot could just be a formality. We will bring you casting news and updates as soon as we get it.
What do you FANdemaniacs think of seeing Josh on your TVs soon? We want to hear from you in the comments below.
