Welcome to the final Shadowhunters Hottie of the Week – Malec Edition!
That’s right Shadowhunters fans, in just 3 days Season 2 will premiere on Freeform so this is our last Shadowhunters themed Hottie of the Week. We figured it was only right to go out with a bang. So after working our way through the cast for the last few months we end with Malec. For the uninitiated (i.e. those of you just here for the hotties) Malec is the ship name for Magnus Bane and Alec Lightwood, aka Harry Shum Jr. and Matthew Daddario.
This iconic pairing is probably the most celebrated ship in the Shadowhunters universe. The High Warlock of Brooklyn and the Head of the New York Institute. One half-Demon, the other half-Angel, they are totally a match made in heaven.
Dang…I have chills!
Harry Shum Jr. was probably best known as Mike Chang from Glee before he magicked his way into our hearts as Magnus Bane. Check out his IMDb though and you’ll see that he played in a slew of dance movies before that, no wonder Magnus has such a flourish.
All that dancing is great for the physique too, I mean just look at the evidence!
I wish I’d unwrapped either of these two on Christmas morning!
29 year old Matthew Daddario originally auditioned to play Jace but author Cassandra Clare thought he was better suited as Alec. Can’t say I disagree. He’s also one of the few things that can make little old English me sit through an entire movie about American football!
Underneath all those pads is a rather delectable bod too, one that we’ve seen a few times.

Can I please have whatever job means I get to play with Matt’s hair while he lies shirtless on a couch?

I know that Malec as a ship have helped a lot of people. Those I see in the fandom who have embraced their sexuality after seeing Malec do the same. I wanted to share something that I hope might do something similar for those who face bullying.
