Hitman 3 Game Review
Hitman 3, the latest installment in the Hitman series of games is finally out and it’s possibly the best of the series.
I’ll admit to having no expectations whatsoever. I tried not to get excited and Hitman 3’s release was relatively quiet for a AAA game. So imagine my shock when it became the most addictive game I’d played in a while.
Plot
I’ll be honest. Plot-wise this isn’t the strongest game in the world. Hitman 3 basically finally tells the story of Agent 47, something fans have wanted for years. The fact is though, not many people are playing Hitman for it’s story. It’s never been standout for it’s story alone and 3 is no exception.
It’s fine. Just not something that’s gonna have people talking for months. Thankfully there isn’t much of it. It seems the developers knew this fact and kept conservative.
Gameplay
Finally somewhere 3 really shines! Throughout the game there are multiple places to discover and unlock and hundreds of ways to assassinate your target.
The NPCs who are part of the map are intelligent and will immediately notice if you start acting a little odd. This is so refreshing. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been pulled put of a perfectly good stealth game because the NPCs stare at a wall just waiting for you to kill them. If you’re not smart here, planning your every move, you will be caught. It’s fantastic to know that you’ll always be able to go back to where you were and try a different approach because of the continuous auto-save feature and the multiple save slots.
Review
I loved this game. Though it’s not a game you can just play for 5 minutes. It’s addictive, trying and re-trying different approaches to killing your target and trying to explore the entire map was the highlight. You can also import maps from Hitman 1 & 2 into the game to play through those on next gen.
The game has multiple different modes where you complete as many assassinations as possible using a sniper rifle. Though I was so busy with the main game that I didn’t play much of that.
