Welcome to The Halcyon
Tonight sees the debut of the Halcyon, ITV’s latest period drama mini-series. Starring Kara Tointon, Steven Mackintosh, Olivia Williams and Matt Ryan, The Halcyon chronicles events in a grand London hotel during the Blitz.

I’m really excited for this show. I’m not usually a fan of period dramas, but given the presence of Matt Ryan I have been looking forward to this one. He plays an American journalist who gets caught up in the events going on in the hotel. He is sadly absent from the series trailer but you can see him in this sneak peek.
Looks like a tremendous opening for the episode, music, celebration, explosions and intrigue. Matt Ryan’s character seems to be involved in a love triangle by the look of this clip. The trailer also hints at Royal impropriety, and relationships between guests and staff at the hotel. It’ll certainly be interesting to see how events play out.
