#FridayNightBites? The Vampire Diaries and The Originals are on the move

The CW have announced their schedule for after the mid season break and, to make room for new DC Superhero show Legends of Tomorrow, their ThirstyThursday double bill of The Vampire Diaries at 8 and The Originals at 9 are being moved to Friday, current home of Reign and America’s Next Top Model, as of January 29th 2016.

So what does this mean for these two shows? Well, hopefully nothing bad. Both shows have a very loyal fanbase and the hope would be that those fanbases will carry over to the Friday night slots without any worries. But Friday night is generally seen as a bit of a TV graveyard, most people are out getting their drink on or spending time with friends and family, and shows are relegated to the DVR or not watched at all.

Could it be a blessing in disguise though? Currently on a Thursday night the Salvatore and Mikaelson brothers are up against the Double Whammy that is Grey’s Anatomy and How To Get Away With Murder over on ABC, so there’s a chance that moving away from the Shonda Rhimes dominated night might actually boost ratings.

What do you think? Will this move be a shot of Klaus’s blood to werewolf bitten ratings or a White Oak Stake to the heart? Are you all up for Friday Night Bites or will you be letting your shows go to the TV graveyard while you go out and have fun? Sound off in the comments.
