According to Indiewire.com, David Cronenberg’s “Maps To The Stars” has been picked up by Focus World, an arm of Universal’s major Focus Features. The film is set to have its North American premiere next week at the Toronto Film Festival and later this month at the New York Film Festival. It is also scheduled to be released in the UK at the end of the month.
But what does this mean for the US? It means that the movie will not be out until early 2015 and it may only be released VOD.
Since the film will not be out before the end of the year, it will crush any chances of awards seasons for the movie. Julianne Moore had won Best Actress in Cannes for her role in this film.
