Fierce Female Friday Wonder Woman – Gal Gadot

Wonder Woman - Gal Gadot

It’s A Bird, It’s A Plane, It’s Fierce Female Friday, Wonder Woman – Gal Gadot

Ok, ok, I know that, “it’s a bird it’s a plane,” saying belongs to Superman, but Why can’t I use a little cheese to describe Wonder Woman – Gal Gadot as well? The ladies of FANdemonium Towers, voted that Gal Gadot be our Fierce Female Friday winner this week. I can’t say I don’t disagree. I mean she has it all, right?

Wonder Woman was announced before Gal made her debut in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice on the big screen. The studio, saw her and knew they had their Wonder Woman, before they even showed the audience the aforementioned movie.

A Little Background on Wonder Woman – Gal Gadot

  • April 30, 1985 in Rosh Ha’ayin, Israel
  • She served in the IDF for two years, and won the Miss Israel title in 2004.
  • Made her film debut in the fourth film of the Fast and Furious franchise, Fast & Furious (2009), as Gisele.
  • Is the first non-American actress to play Diana Prince/Wonder Woman.
  • Her name is pronounced “Gal Guh-dote”.
  • She had never eaten a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup until she tried it on the The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
  • Made the decision to hide her pregnancy while filming Wonder Woman so that she wouldn’t be treated any differently on set.

Can we just focus on that last point for another minute or ten? She was growing a life inside of her, while kicking ass on the big screen. Gal was reported as saying, “she spent vomiting in corners and coping with hormone-induced migraines while making the record-breaking superhero film.” Gadot said, “I had this jug of water with huge pieces of ginger. One of the producers kept on asking, ‘Why are you drinking that potato water?’ They thought I’d gone Hollywood.”

Gadot previously revealed that she filmed reshoots for the action-heavy movie while five months pregnant with second daughter Maya, who was born in March. (Her older daughter, Alma, is five.) In April she told Entertainment Weekly about fitting into the iconic armor while sporting a growing baby bump. “On close-up I looked very much like Wonder Woman,” she said. “On wide shots, I looked very funny, like Wonder Woman pregnant with Kermit the Frog,” because the costume department covered her bump with a bright green fabric that could be digitally altered in postproduction.

If being pregnant and doing all she did on the big screen to make Wonder Woman happen doesn’t make her fierce, I don’t think anything can. Well maybe being in the Israeli Army from ages 18 – 20, I mean just maybe ;).

Thoughts from Wonder Woman – Gal Gadot:

[on Wonder Woman’s smirk in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)] I did that. I remember after we did that take, Zack [director Zack Snyder] came to me and he said, ‘Did you just have a smirk?’ I said ‘Yeah.’ And he asked, ‘Why? I think I like it, but why?’ ‘Well if [Doomsday’s] gonna mess with her, then she’s gonna mess with him. And she knows she’s gonna win.’ At the end of the day Wonder Woman is a peace seeker. But when fight arrives, she can fight. She’s a warrior and she enjoys the adrenaline of the fight.

Some Visual Of Our Wonder Woman – Gal Gadot:
