‘Daredevil’ on The Late Show

Daredevil is getting closer to its premiere date of April 10, 2015, so the promo has already begun. Charlie Cox (Matt Murdock/Daredevil) joined David Letterman on The Late Show this week to discuss details of the upcoming Netflix series.

Even though he was battling food poisoning, Cox still was able to get in a few laughs with Letterman.  Some of the topics discussed, besides what caused the food poisoning, was what the show was about, if Netflix could benefit off a series like this and whether we will see more Daredevil after the original 13 episodes.

The following is a partial transcription of the interview courtesy of Comicbookmovie.com:

Charlie explains Daredevil to Letterman.
“It’s a new collaboration between Marvel and Netflix.  And Daredevil is one of the most beloved superheroes.  He’s blind, which is interesting – his disability is his strength.  As a 9-year-old boy, he was blinded in  a road accident where he was saving an old man crossing the street.  There was a chemical spillage that went into his eyes and the byproduct of that accident is that his senses were heightened to such a degree that he can operate better than a seeing-person. ”

On how the Netflix-model will benefit the show.
“We’re very much encouraged to talk about binge-watching.  I think [binge-watching] increases viewership.  It seems to be a proven model with the way people like to watch television these days.  They like to choose how many episodes they watch and when they watch them. ”

Will there be more Daredevil?
“I don’t know, I hope so.  They’re going to release the first 13 on April 10 at 12:01 AM.  If everyone watches it, binge-watches it…..”

Cox is joined by a cast that includes Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page), Elden Henson (Foggy Nelson), Rosario Dawson (Claire Temple) and Vincent D’Onofrio (Wilson Fisk/Kingpin).

All 13 episodes of the series will be available at 12:01 am on April 10.

Will you be binge watching with the rest of us?
