Call Of The Night “Isn’t This a Tight Squeeze?” Review

Call Of The Night “Isn’t This a Tight Squeeze?” is the fourth episode of the Call Of The Night anime. Following the events of episode 3, especially the ending where Ko got his first kiss from Nazuna, Ko goes to find her but not for the first time doesn’t know how to show his face to her. Meanwhile Akira is seen as having the exact same sleeping issues that Ko does. He bumps  into her this night and decides to invite her to hang out with Nazuna and himself. Ko gets teased whilst playing a dating sim and finally comes clean to Akira about what he’s doing hanging around a vampire. She replies that she’s just happy Ko has found a goal he can aim for and they have a long chat before they all fall asleep on Nazuna’s futon. As Akira leaves Nazuna tells her that people generally sleep well because they’re satisfied with their day and asks her if she is satisfied, leaving Akira to ponder it.

Getting A Goal

This episode was much much better than the last and actually portrayed Akira in a pretty good light. I didn’t like her character much last episode but as her character is being explored she’s becoming more and more interesting, especially her choice to accept Ko’s decisions no matter what. She’s kind and good and I think even Nazuna will start to learn to accept her in time.

Once again Nazuna plays the innocent game when it comes to love but I’ve got a feeling she knows more about creating a vampire than she’s letting on, or maybe that’s just wild speculation. Overall I loved this episode, it felt like it flew by, it was so much fun especially when all three friends got together.
