Attack On Titan “Brothers” Review
Attack On Titan “Brothers” is the seventy eight episode of the Attack On Titan anime. After the events of episode 77. Eren and Zeke are desperately trying to get together, whilst Galliard finally understands Reiner after seeing his memories.
The Plan
This entire episode is a visual delight. Whilst the madness goes on around them, everything is directed to perfection. Everyone gets enough screen time to make their impact. When Zeke does the unthinkable the emotions hit hard. The tension builds so slowly that you don’t even notice it until the climax and realise you’ve been holding your breath. All meanwhile giving the Paradis characters time to shine. The one thing that sticks out is when the inevitable happens. The direction is all in still frames. I loved it, it hammered home what had just happened whilst also allowing the viewer time to digest what the hell they just witnessed.
Only minor complaint I have is with the last 10 minutes of the episode. It’s good in a dramatic sense but it does drag on a bit until the big twist. It was only 10 minutes maybe less but it felt like so much more, whereas the first section of the episode flew by so quickly I had to re-watch it because I loved it so much.
