Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Week | Explore Ancient Greece Like Never Before | Worlds

Assassin‘s Creed Odyssey Week| Explore Ancient Greece Like Never Before | Worlds

We all here at FANdemonium Network love a huge bunch of TV shows, movies and comics. After a while we came up with the idea of trying to cover games as well. I for myself am a huge fan of PS4 games and that’s why we thought this could be a great idea. After E3 2018 happening a few days back, I’m extremely excited to talk about the new Assassin‘s Creed game that’s coming this year. So keep following if you’re a gaming geek (even if you are not, maybe that will change soon) and enjoy the ride into Ancient Greece with Assassin‘s Creed Odyssey!

What can we expect?

As many of you I got pretty damn excited when I read the news about a new assassin’s creed game that will already launch in OCTOBER! After we got a teaser trailer we have the full information from E3 2018 and now know a lot about Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.

The Game is set in 431 BC in Ancient Greece and follows the story of either Alexios or Kassandra – the choice is yours. 17 years after they’re cast out of Sparta and left for dead following a family tragedy and a dark prophecy from the Oracle of Delphi. The story already does sound amazing BUT what really changes the game is that everything is about YOUR CHOICE.

While Assassin’s Creed Origins had RPG elements included in its open world structure, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is taking the RPG to the next level. They are offering greater player choice than ever before – with dialogue options, choice-based gameplay and even multiple endings.

The release date

I think we all were extremely curious WHEN the game will be released – AMAZING NEWS – we only have to wait until October 5th! I for myself thought we would have to wait longer to finally get into the game but here we are only about 4 months away until it all starts. It took the creators three years to get Assassin‘s Creed Odyssey done and it will be released for PS4, Xbox One and PC.

If you order the Gold Edition of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey you’ll not only be able to play the game TWO DAYS ahead of everyone else BUT also get the Season Pass and two bonus missions with it.

Those are the official descriptions of UBISOFT!

Kephallonia Island | Land Of Lost Dreams

Kephallonia Island-Assassin's Creed Odyssey

This is where your journey will begin, much like that of the infamous Odysseus. Kephallonia sits on the west of the Korinthian Gulf. The island was once wealthy but has fallen on hard times and will soon succumb to the cost of war. It has a diverse landscape that includes the peaks of Mount Ainos and the sands of Myrtos Beach, with a warm climate.

  • ENVIRONMENT: Summer
  • ECONOMY: Timber
  • POPULATION: Low

Northern Greece | Regions (Phokis, Malis, Makedonia, Lokris)

Northern Greece-Assassin's Creed Odyssey

Northern Greece is full of diversity. The modern air of Makedonia contrasts with the barbaric nature of Malis, just as the salt flats and summer heat do against swampy marshes and deep forests. This is the place where you can find anything you’re looking for – and plenty of things you aren’t.

Phokis | The Land Of The Gods

Phokis-Assassin's Creed Odyssey

Phokis is home to the renowned Sanctuary of Delphi on the slopes of Mount Parnassos, once considered the center of the world by ancient Greeks and was home to the Oracle of Delphi located in the Temple of Apollo.

  • ENVIRONMENT: Deciduous forest – the vibrant reds and yellows of the trees combines with the sea of sacred olive groves, making the mountainous landscape intoxicating and hard to leave.
  • ECONOMY: The state makes money from those visiting the Oracle as they pass through the city of Khirra.
  • POPULATION: Low numbers of locals, with a large number of visitors

Malis | Wild Lands Of The North

Malis-Assassin's Creed Odyssey

Malis is most known for being the place where Xerxes and Leonidas fought the battle of 300. Situated towards the north of Greece, it was once a highly contested region but is now mostly inhabited by animals and hunters wanting to stay out of the war.

  • ENVIRONMENT: Deciduous forest
  • ECONOMY: Self-sufficient
  • POPULATION: Very low

Makedonia | Rise Of An Empire

Makedonia-Assassin's Creed Odyssey

Makedonia is the most northern region of Greece. It is in its infancy during the Peloponnesian War, but the small village of Potidaea and the city of Amphipolis play important roles in the beginning and end of the war, respectively.

  • ENVIRONMENT: Deciduous forest – with many marshes, moors, and lakes
  • ECONOMY: Silver mining
  • POPULATION: Low

Lokris | Salt Of The Earth

Lokris-Assassin's Creed Odyssey

Lokris is a small region and home to Greece’s salt industry. The region’s salt has caught the attention of the military, as all useful resources gain value during the war. The white salt flats contrast heavily against the blood of fallen soldiers.

  • ENVIRONMENT: Summer Biome – with vast salt flats, sea shore salt fields, and a blood red lake.
  • ECONOMY: Salt
  • POPULATION: Very Low

Attika Peninsula | 3 Regions (Attika, Boeotia, Megaris)

Attika Peninsula-Assassin's Creed Odyssey

With Athens at its heart, the Attika Peninsula is a heavily-trafficked area of Greece. It is home to some of the most iconic landmarks and attractions, but there are also regions here that have fallen into ruin over time.

Attika | The Land Of Democracy

Attika-Assassin's Creed Odyssey

Athens, the largest city of the time, sits at the heart of Attika. It’s also at the center of the Peloponnesian War – going head-to-head with Sparta for supremacy and power in the region. The war aside, Attika is home to many beautiful and interesting landmarks just waiting to be explored, including Marathon, Cape Sounion and the Mt Pantelakos Marble Quarry, to name a few.

  • ENVIRONMENT: The Summer Biome – defined by its unmistakable Greek feel. The off-white rocks, sun-drenched pine trees and golden grasses make for a hot, but beautiful biome primed for discovery.
  • ECONOMY: Attika once gained a great deal of its wealth from the silver mine at Lavrio. Now that Athens, its capital city, has set itself as leader of the Delian League, its wealth comes instead from the taxes paid by the mainland and island regions.
  • POPULATION: Very High

Boeotia | Land Of Perpetual War

Boeotia-Assassin's Creed Odyssey

At the eastern shore of Boeotia lies Thebes, the capital city of the region and former home of the Legendary Seven Warriors. In the middle of Lake Kopais is the ancient ruins of Gla, which were repurposed into a fort during the war. To the west of the region is the once lavish city of Orchomenos. Civil unrest is problematic here for the locals, but less so than in the village of Mykelenos, which has been burned to ashes by local militia.

  • ENVIRONMENT: The Summer Biome – burned by the ongoing unrest in the region.
  • ECONOMY: The Boeotians were mostly self-sufficient but the recent civil unrest has taken its toll on the region’s agriculture output, making resources incredibly scarce.
  • POPULATION: Medium

Megaris | Frontlines Of The War

Megaris-Assassin's Creed Odyssey

Megaris has become engulfed in a fierce battle between the occupying forces of the Athenians and the invading Spartans. This strategic point of land sits precariously on the isthmus of the Peloponnese.

  • ENVIRONMENT: Lush Spring landscapes contrasted heavily against the burnt battlegrounds.
  • ECONOMY: Pottery and pig farming
  • POPULATION: Low

Forest Islands | 3 Regions (Petrified Islands, Abantis Islands, Hepahestos Islands)

Forest Islands-Assassin's Creed Odyssey

The aptly named Forest Islands are full of trees – some more alive than others. The beautiful autumnal colors of the trees are an especially unique draw, but there are plenty of other reasons to spend time here. The weather is inviting, as are the wines and the beautiful marble work.

Petrified Islands | Land Of Sapphic Love

Petrified Islands-Assassin's Creed Odyssey

The Petrified Islands are well-known for being the home of the poet Sappho, as well as an ancient mystical forest. One of its cities, Mytilene, rebelled against the Athenians, which in turn, led to its overall surrender to Athens.

  • ENVIRONMENT: The Autumnal Forest biome, including a mystical ancient forest.
  • ECONOMY: Wine
  • POPULATION: Medium

Abantis Islands | Islands Of the Fall

Abantis Islands-Assassin's Creed Odyssey

Abantis Islands are on the brink of civil war. Chalcis and Eretria were rival cities here, always fighting each other for the commercial and colonial role. However, Eretria was utterly ruined during the Persian War 50 years ago and, despite being rebuilt soon after, never regained its former glory. To add insult to injury, Chalcis seized this opportunity and tried to enslave the people of Eretria.

  • ENVIRONMENT: Deciduous forest
  • ECONOMY: Slaves
  • POPULATION: Low

  • POPULATION: Low

Silver Islands | From Riches To Rebellion

Silver Islands-Assassin's Creed Odyssey

Delos and its sister island Mykenos are both breathtakingly beautiful and incredibly picturesque. Delos was once a place of immense power as the Temple of Delians was home to the silver fortune of the Delian League—headed by Athens—and was the birth place of the twin gods Artemis and Apollo. Since the silver riches were moved to Athens in 454BC by Perikles, the island’s leaders have been hell-bent on restoring the region’s power status.

  • ENVIRONMENT: Paradise Island – with refreshing lagoons, white sandy beaches and cypre trees, there’s nothing more picturesque.
  • ECONOMY: Religion
  • POPULATION: Low

Pirate Island | Lands Of Plunder

Pirate Island-Assassin's Creed Odyssey

The outward beauty of Keos belies an inward stench of death after the island was besieged by pirates. Its main city is now in ruins and its older population dead because everyone over 60 years of age was forced to drink deadly hemlock – an extreme solution so that there would be enough food for the rest of the dwindling population.

  • ENVIRONMENT: Paradise like – lush and balmy, with turquoise waters and palm trees.

Paros Island-Assassin's Creed Odyssey

The azure blue coastal waters, white sandy beaches are home to the marble mountain, a large marble quarry that has caught the eyes of the local militia. The city is home to many artisans working on the freshly excavated mineral. Thanks to its marble quarries, Paros was considered the richest of the Cyclades, and therefore paid the highest tribute to the Delian League.

  • ECONOMY: Marble
  • POPULATION: Low

Volcanic Islands | Forge Of The World

Volcanic Islands-Assassin's Creed Odyssey

The Volcanic Islands region is a desolate place with an air of mystery. It contains the island of Thera itself, as well as two other passive and active volcanoes, but nothing much has regained life since the ancient volcano erupted, more or less wiping out the Minoan civilization.

  • ECONOMY: None
  • POPULATION: None

  • ENVIRONMENT: Arid
  • ECONOMY: Tourism
  • POPULATION: Low

Messara | Zeus’ Playground

Messara-Assassin's Creed Odyssey

In Greek mythology, this is where a baby Zeus was hidden from his child-devouring father. It was the Greek capital of the islands during the classical period, with its city, Gortyn, as a small oasis in an otherwise arid landscape. The ruined Palace of Knossos sits in the dry dirt harboring mythical secrets.

  • ENVIRONMENT: Arid
  • ECONOMY: Money
  • POPULATION: Medium

Obsidian Islands | The Battle Royale

Obsidian Islands-Assassin's Creed Odyssey

Melos is a volcanic island and home to a fortified city. It became a well-known island due to it obsidian. The naturally-occurring volcanic glass was used by farmers and warriors alike for thousands of years before the use of bronze rendered the mines obsolete. The island is also a key stop-off point between the mainland and Krete.

  • ENVIRONMENT: Volcanic
  • ECONOMY: Money
  • POPULATION: Medium

Kythera | Home Of Tyrian Purple

Kythera-Assassin's Creed Odyssey

The island of Kythera, in the south of the Peloponnese, is home to a temple of Aphrodite. Pilgrims would travel from all across Greece to worship here. The local trade of murex dye is also renowned, as the purple dye is tedious to farm from the hundreds of thousands of murex shells found off the nearby coast. The resulting dye, however, is very rare, and incredibly expensive.

Arkadia | Breadbasket Of The Peloponnese

Arkadia-Assassin's Creed Odyssey

Arkadia prides itself on being the “Breadbasket of the Peloponnese,” with the largest agricultural zones on the peninsula. Despite its wealth, the city of Tegea is still constructed of wood and many say there are more animals than people in the capital.

Parnon to the east, and hilly uplands to the north, Sparta enjoys natural defenses that make battling their superior military even more difficult.

  • ECONOMY: The Spartans are a self-sufficient nation, utilizing the region’s lush landscape and flowing rivers. They’ve risen to become the leaders of the Peloponnesian League.
