Alden Ehrenreich to play Han Solo
It seems that after a long period of speculation, Alden Ehrenreich has been confirmed to play the younger version of Han Solo in the forthcoming movie about the ruggedly handsome space smuggler.
Ehrenreich has long been touted as one of the front runners for the forthcoming standalone prequel movie, along with the likes of Miles Teller and Taron Egerton, but according to numerous sources today he is the chosen one. Best known for roles in Beautiful Creatures and Hail, Caesar, Ehrenreich has had critical acclaim but not a huge amount of publicity. This could be set to catapult him into the big time.
The Han Solo movie is expected to be similar to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, a prequel set before Star Wars: A New Hope, introducing us to the character before he got caught up with the rebellion in Episode IV. Hands up who is hoping to see him actually completing the Kessel Run in “less than 12 parsecs”? The young Han Solo movie is slated for May 25th 2018 and is not due to start production until January 2017. There are rumours that the young Han Solo will appear in a cameo in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, but at present that is pure speculation.
