“A Shakespearean Fantasy,” With Orlando Bloom and Condola Rashad, to Play Disney Concert Hall

Orlando Bloom (“The Lord of the Rings”) and Tony Award nominee Condola Rashad (Stick Fly, The Trip to Bountiful), who recently starred in the Broadway revival of Romeo and Juliet, will appear as part of “Tchaikovskyfest: A Shakespearean Fantasy” Feb. 26 at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles.

The evening will feature the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela, conducted by Gustavo Dudamel. The actors will offer key scenes from Shakespeare’s plays before each piece of music they inspired.

Kate Burton directs the 8 PM presentation that will feature Bloom reading Romeo, Rashad reading Juliet, Robert Sean Leonard reading Hamlet and Joe Morton reading Prospero.

The evening is presented as part of “Tchaikovskyfest,” which runs Feb. 20-March 2.

As previously reported, the revival of Romeo and Juliet, starring Bloom and Rashad, is being screened in cinemas across the U.S.
