Perfect Match

Buck (Oliver Stark) informed Hen (Aisha Hinds) and Bobby (Peter Krause) that he hasn’t bought his girlfriend, Taylor (Megan West) anything for Christmas, saying that he has never had a girlfriend for Christmas. But of course, Buck tends to overthink everything and suggest a portable generator. Bobby leaves before he hears more, thanking Taylor for making the announcement for the toy drive where she asks Bobby’s opinion about sweaters as a gift for Buck.

Return Caller

We get a 911 call into the call center; the woman was describing a fire but was very vague on the whole thing. Josh (Bryan Safi) looks back into the call records and that over the last 5 years she called over a dozen times including the day before. Claiming that the call center has been kind to her, answering her calls no matter the time of day. As Josh was trying to give her information if she needed someone to talk to and that the call center is busy; she gets off the phone saying she will call back later.

Second Family

Athena (Angela Bassett) is called to the hospital as they are dealing with the wives of the man with two families. The women are battling it out in the hospital and one unlucky security guard got mixed in the middle, who got hit in the nose. Athena talked to the wives that they need to think of their kids. The wives come to an agreement that they deserve better and they both want a divorce from the man.

Elevators

In an office building after a very awkward gift rejection a woman was backing from; falling down an elevator shaft landing on top of the elevator getting trapped. This is fear is fully unlocked now, I’m already terrified of elevators so this just made it worse. The 118 are called into the scene, Bobby immediately snaps at the maintenance guy for not having signs or cones around the broken elevator. As Hen is checking over the woman; the girl tried apologizing for the gift to the guy. The guy admits he has a crush on the girl and only said no to the gift as it was a concert he doesn’t like.

Christopher’s Issue

Eddie was coming out with hot chocolate and accidentally dropped the cup on Christopher’s gingerbread house; where Christopher breaks down. Kept repeating that he wanted everything to be perfect. Eddie promises they will make a bigger and better one the next year. Christopher snaps back with that Eddie could be dead next year. Eddie explains to Carla about what happened and that he can’t promise that he won’t die on the job.

Frequent Caller

Our lonely caller called back into the dispatch center again; this time claiming there was a prowler outside her home. Luckily Josh had placed a warning on her number. It was determined that they needed to give her the only call 911 for emergency speech, but it needed to be a stronger person to give it. Call in Athena Grant. Athena informs her that misuse of 911 is a crime, Athena wasn’t going to arrest her but talk to her. We find out our caller hasn’t spoken to her daughter in 12 years and it’s been lonely since her husband has passed. Athena suggests she tries to contact her daughter.

Tree Disaster

As a husband was on the phone with his wife arguing over the Christmas tree; he was backing into a parking spot that was below his apartment at first, he nudges a building support pole with his car; retrying to park he completely takes the pole out causing half of the apartment to crash down below on top of him. The 118 uses an airbag to lift the building slightly off of the car so that they are able to get the door off. The team are able to pull the man out, but before the family could leave Bobby has to inform them and the rest of the residents that they have to red tag the building as it is not safe to be in the building as the landlord never put the building to the new earthquake codes.

Its Christmas!

The 911 dispatch center is fully decorated for the holiday including custom Christmas stockings for each dispatcher. Our frequent caller sent our dispatchers a gift basket thanking them and that she wasn’t lonely anymore. Bobby and the team after hours show up to the motel where the residents of the tagged apartment building are currently residing with a huge Christmas gathering; working with the red cross with donations for the displaced families. Buck gives Taylor a bracelet with an emergency distress beacon, so if she ever needs a rescue that it will send for them; Taylor gave him a sweater. Earlier Buck told Hen he wasn’t feeling the season as he was missing his family, aka Maddie and Chimney being gone; but now he is thankful for the family he does have.

As the episode wraps up; Eddie gathers Buck, Hen and Ravi (Anirudh Pisharody); saying that Christopher is worried about him and the risks he takes at work. Eddie knows things need to change, so he is leaving the 118. That is how the episode ends, I can’t wait for March.

9-1-1 will return in March!
