Honorable Mentions

I am a sucker for Renaissance Faires, but I’m not the biggest fan of swarming bees. The team is called out to the fair when a female knight is stung after putting on her armor. The team suits up with net-protecting helmets, so they can evaluate the victim. With the bees still on the victim, Bobby (Peter Krause) sprays foam over the knight, causing the bees to flee. As the team is working on the victim more bees start to swarm again. Hen (Aisha Hinds) realizes that the queen bee is stuck under the armor. After removing a few of the stingers the victim awakens and is alright before heading off to the hospital.

Another part I want to mention is the couple on top of the firetruck attempting to you know… while the truck is moving. Going as far as saying that everyone does it on airplanes but not firetrucks. The team is alerted when the man is thrown off the top, Eddie (Ryan Guzman) then notices that there was someone else on top as well. When the couple is questioned why the female said it was always a fantasy.

My Favorite and/or Least Favorite Part

Uncle Buck! Seeing Buck (Oliver Stark) babysitting Jee-Yun is probably the most adorable thing to watch. How Jee would throw the crayons, making him pick them up as a distraction to cause pure two-year-old chaos. Buck totally thought he had it under control with his niece, but he quickly realized how much chaos a two-year-old can create. By the time Chimney (Kenneth Choi) and Maddie (Jennifer Love Hewitt) arrived to pick up Jee, his usually clean apartment was a disaster.

“Let’s just say, she isn’t the only one who needs a nap.” – Evan ‘Buck’ Buckley (Oliver Stark)

My least favorite part of the episode was with the worker who imagined all the worst things that could happen to his boss. Like him falling out of the window or electrocuting himself on a science project. It was when the worker gave him the wrong latte and accidentally poisoned him with an allergic reaction. The team and Athena (Angela Bassett) were called into the scene as the worker told dispatch that he had imagined it but didn’t realize that he actually did it. Turns out the man had a heart attack instead.

Standout Moment

May (Corinne Massiah) is introduced to a guy named Erik (Robbie Kay) through another male friend, Darius (Dante Brown). While waiting for Darius she found an alarming notebook full of very dark things and thoughts. Taking the notebook, May calls her mother to inform her of what she found, forgetting that her friend lives with the guy. As May informs him to stay out of the house, Erik takes Darius hostage and wants his notebook returned. With the police surrounding the house, Erik is spiraling. May distract him long enough for police to enter the house.

My Overall Thoughts on the Episode

I love how we got to see Chimney and Maddie’s dynamic with Jee-Yun. It’s been interesting seeing her grow up over the last two seasons and how the two act as parents. And now we are seeing Christopher (Gavin McHugh) grow up as well with him, Eddie, and Carla (Cocoa Brown) getting ready for his first dance. But we are also witnessing Christopher’s first crush. It was very frightening to watch the dark notebook segment and the twisted individual, as it’s actually happening around the world. It wasn’t my favorite part but I do like how they shed some light on current events. As the episode wrapped up, we got to see all of the victims and our favorite team living their fantasies in a positive and safe way.

You can watch all previous episodes and seasons on Hulu.
