2016 Emmy Nominations Announced

The 68th Annual Emmy Nominations were announced today in Los Angeles, CA.  Presenters  included Anthony Anderson (‘black-ish) and Lauren Graham (Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life) with Television Academy Chairman and CEO Bruce Rosenbaum.

The Emmy’s celebrate the best of the best in Television every year, highlighting the shows and actors/actresses that audiences fall in love with and can’t get enough of.  Each year, many series/actors/directors are given credit for the amazing work that they do.  On the flip side, many are also snubbed, Outlander being the biggest snub of the year for us.  The biggest difference, I see anyway, between the Emmy’s and it’s Movie counterpart, The Oscars, is that there is more diversity in the nominations at the Emmy’s.  Since television has such a diverse array to choose from, and a plethora of amazing actors, it makes this awards show a little more entertaining (well in my opinion).

This year, leading the nominations once again is HBO series Game of Thrones with 23 nominations.  Limited series The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story and Fargo were right behind, receiving 22 nominations and 18 nominations respectively.
