*checks date* It’s not April Fools, so yeah, this is really happening. Sony Pictures has confirmed that Men In Black/Jump Street crossover is in the works. The title…. MIB23.
According to comicbook.com it was announced at CinemaCon, a get together for Cinema owners in Las Vegas, that the mash-up IS definitely happening and will star Jump Street duo Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum. The pair will be reprising their roles of undercover cops Schmidt and Jenko. It doesn’t look as though Men In Black stars Will Smith or Tommy Lee Jones will be appearing, but there isn’t much word out there yet, that could change.
Now I don’t know about you, but I’m sitting here scratching my head wonder how on earth this is going to work. In the previous Jump Street movies, Schmidt and Jenko have gone undercover in a high school and then a college. So will they get sent undercover at a covert alien-hiding government organisation this time? Or is it going to be like MIB1 all over again, where said organisation needs a new agent so they are recruiting from unlikely places? I guess we are going to have to wait and see as plot details develop on this one.
