(Watch) ‘Fantastic Four’ TV Spot: Introducing Four Extraordinary Subjects

20th Century Fox has been looking as if they were holding back on revealing too much about Fantastic Four. After all, the franchises doesn’t have a great track record after the two cooly-received Fantastic Four comic book film adaptations released during the 2000s, and are contending with the level of superhero feature films audiences have come to expect from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

However, since the first trailer dropped a few months back, the studio has been wisely determined to pump up the Fantastic Four reboot’s profile ahead of its August release. We’ve seen a deluge of marketing materials lately, and now we have a brand-new TV spot to whet fans’ appetite for Chronicle director Josh Trank’s big-budget debut.

Fox has just released the above footage for the film, and the television preview’s emphasis is on showcasing the team’s dynamic. The studio is playing this very smartly to not only segue from the success its seen with the X-Men franchise, but also appeal to mainstream audiences who (thanks in large part to The Avengers) have been primed to associate superhero teams with quality entertainment.

With, the introduction of a “a new generation of heroes” implies that Reed Richards (Miles Teller) and company (Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan, and Jamie Bell) are the next step in a natural progression for films of this kind. Of course, the collaborative relationship between members of the Fantastic Four has always been a key element of “Marvel’s First Family” in the comics, and it’s only logical for that theme to carry through into this new big-screen adaptation, offering a change of pace from more character-focused spots.

Fantastic Four opens August 7, 2015, Deadpool on February 12, 2016, X-Men: Apocalypse on May 27, 2016, Gambit is coming October 7, 2016, The Wolverine 3 (not the official title) on March 3, 2017,Fantastic Four 2 on June 2, 2017, and some as-yet unspecified X-Men film on July 13, 2018.

Well FANdemaniacs? What did you think? Are you as excited to see Fantastic Four as we are? We want to hear from you in the comments below!
