Watch: Daredevil Season 2 Trailer Gives Us a Glimpse of Elektra and Punisher

NYCC clip teases new season of Netflix’s hit superhero series, which returns in 2016

Mild-mannered lawyer Matt Murdock and his costumed alter ego finds himself facing a few new enemies (and some old fan favorites) in the first teaser for Season Two of Marvel and Netflix’s Daredevil.
We  squealed with delight when we got to see the 30 second clip when we were at New York Comic Con this past weekend. We yelled and squealed so much that they played the clip for the second time, just so we could hear Punisher say something. Sadly we missed it for the second time due to squeals and screams for the second time.

Luckily it was finally released and posted online for us and everyone else to watch again and again and again. Watch the clip below for your glimpse into season 2.

Following a minute-and-a-half Season One highlight reel, the clip reopens to find Murdock (Charlie Cox), his partner Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson) and client/love-interest Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) mourning silently in church pews. The blind lawyer-turned-crime fighter asks Father Lantom in a voice over, “Why do I still feel guilty?”

As Lantom offers his empowering reply —

“Guilt can be a good thing: It’s the soul’s call to action, the indication that your work is not yet finished”

— the clip offers a peek at the action to come. Not only do fans get to see Murdock in the fresh Daredevil suit he debuted in last season’s finale, the clip notably offers the first glimpses of some of Season Two’s major additions — Elektra (Elodie Yung) and The Punisher (The Walking Dead‘s Jon Bernthal).

Daredevil is set to return to Netflix in 2016, though an official premiere date has yet to be announced.
