The Walking Dead: Four Walls and a Roof

In episode 3 of the Walking Dead, the church that Rick and the group are seeking shelter at, becomes a slaughter-house for the cannibals. It seems like the tables turned quite a bit for them this week. Episode 2 left us in shock as we watched Gareth and his followers enjoy a nice juicy piece of Bob’s leg. If losing his leg wasn’t bad enough, they made it a point to enjoy their meaty feast in front of him. But Bob ended up getting the last laugh. The speculations were correct, Bob was bit by a walker and therefore his meat was tainted. That sobered them up pretty quickly, and as panic set in Gareth tried to reassure them that the meat was cooked so it should be fine. That didn’t stop the group from trying to make themselves throw up the meat. Bob, not being of any more use to them, was dumped back in front of the church to die.

The group finds Bob, and he tells them what happened and that he was bit by a walker and captured by the termites. Sasha almost completely loses it with Father Gabriel, insinuating that he knows something about the disappearances of Bob, Daryl and Carol. Finally, Father Gabriel comes clean and confesses that he locked members of his congregation out. This makes sense regarding the ‘you will burn for this,’ comment that is carved on the outside of the church.

After the recent turn of events Abraham pushes the group to leave for D.C. immediately. But Rick isn’t going to leave without Daryl and Carol. It looked like it was gonna get pretty ugly between the two of them, but Glen steps in with a compromise that they all agree to. Abraham agrees to stay the night in turn both Maggie and Glen go with him and his group to D.C. in the morning. Once everyone is in agreement, the hunting begins. Half the group heads out in search of Gareth, and in the interim, Gareth make his move on the church. He and his crazed cannibals break into the church and are about to take out those left behind. Stupid move on his part to assume that Rick would just leave with all the ammunition and the church not guarded. Just when you think it’s about to get ugly for the group inside, Rick and company swoop in and all hell breaks loose. There is no civilized discussion, there is no getting out of their predicament. Rick, Michonne, Abraham and Sasha in particular go savage on Gareth and his group. It’s a complete massacre. No mercy for the termites. And quite frankly they deserved it.
So what about Bob? Everyone gathered around Bob and it was bittersweet in the end. He slipped away peacefully after briefly waking from a dream he had of Sasha. Her smile was the last thing he saw before his final moment. RIP Bob!
They buried Bob, and then it was time to bid Abraham and his group farewell on their journey to get Eugene to Washington.
In the evening, sitting on the church steps, Michonne is keeping watch outside, and upon hearing a noise in the woods, Daryl walks out looking none too happy. Daryl has someone with him, but we’re left with another cliffhanger wondering who’s behind the trees.  Is it Beth? Is it Carol? Is it someone new?
So who do you think it is?
