Walker Season 1 Episode 6 “Bar None” Review: It’s all about twists and turns

After a hiatus, Walker returned with some really big punches.

This Walker “Bar None” review contains spoilers. Read at your own risk.

Recap

Bar None takes the anniversary of Emily’s (Genevieve Padalecki) death as an opportunity to keep Walker (Jared Padalecki) and the rest of the Walker family busy. After Geri (Odette Annable) tells Walker that she wants to sell her bar, Walker’s camping trip with Stella (Violet Brinson) and August (Kale Culley) is settled for now and he tries to make the best of a bad job. Micki (Lindsey Morgan) is trying to support him, mainly because a “conversation” with Micki’s mother Adriana (Alex Meneses) is about to take place on the next day, which could end his career as a ranger.

Stella doesn’t want to cancel the whole camping trip and gets Trevor (Gavin Casalegno) on board. Meanwhile, Abeline (Molly Hagan) and Bonham (Mitch Pileggi) are also ready to go. One can see that Abeline is throwing a critical eye on Trevor. Elsewhere, Captain James (Coby Bell) and Liam (Keegan Allen) hire the imprisoned Hoyt (Matt Barr) to investigate Emily’s alleged killer, Carlos Mendoza (Joe Perez).

The main plot is about Walker’s and Micki’s past in general. Both characters often butting heads with each other, but in the end they also learn to appreciate their partnership even more.

During the camping trip, which encounters obstacles, the minor conflict between Stella and Abeline, which revolves around Trevor, is resolved towards the end. Additionally, Liam and James can gain new knowledge about Carlos Mendoza.

Cliffhangers

1. Trevor is the son of Clint West

I always had kind of a bad feeling about Trevor. His whole appearance and talking was kind of suspicious right from the start, at least in my opinion. Nevertheless, I think that Clint is a bigger problem than Trevor. I really do hope, that Trevor won’t accept to do all the dirty work for his father. Fingers crossed. There will be enough drama with Stella anyways, once she finds out everything. But things might not turn out pretty bad, if Trevor just focuses on Stella. Let’s see and wait I guess?

2. Geri’s shady business connections

Who would have thought that Geri isn’t actually as good of a person as she pretends to be? These news actually got me. But how much is she really involved in Emily’s death? That whole thing is still kind of mind blowing news, am I right? Also the fact that she tells Walker about selling her bar after he just got the life insurance? Coincidence? Seems like she wanted him to buy the bar rather sooner than later. I can’t wait to get some more information about Geri and her shady business connections.

3. Micki’s mother being arrested

First she pops up out of nowhere and then she gets arrested for an undisclosed felony charge in the end. Damn! She couldn’t even proceed with Walker’s psych evaluation. But that’s probably for the best, looking at Walker’s whole situation right now. Anyways, what has Micki’s mother done to get arrested? She’s definitely not as flawless as Micki described her.

Final review

If you do like watching Walker and Micki on screen and are interested in seeing them developing as working partners and friends, you shouldn’t miss out on this one. Overall it seems to be quite a relaxing episode with some flashbacks of Walker and Emily, a camping trip and some investigations. However, things are getting pretty much intense in the last couple minutes though, when all these bombs are dropping. It left me kind of speechless to be honest. Everything happening at once and you don’t have time to breathe in between the scenes. They did a pretty good job because now you want to know what happens next with everything going on.
