The year was 1995, I was 18 years old, just graduated high school, The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was opened, and OJ Simpson was all over the news for like the entire year. It was also the year D’Angelo released his debut album “Brown Sugar”. I was sold. This man can S-I-N-G. He is the perfect mix is soul, funk, blues, and R&B. He had covered one of my favorite Smokey Robinson songs and that is the song I am sharing with you today. It truly is a throwback in more ways than one.
