The CW: Something Old and Something New

The CW is jumping on the bandwagon of remakes and bringing back something old and something new. Two of the late 90s early 2000’s favorites Charmed and Roswell are being rebooted. However the old Roswell is now going to be known as Roswell, New Mexico. It looks like both shows will have a new twist, so not total remakes of the earlier shows. I was a huge fan of both of the old shows so this is great news for me!

Charmed

After the tragic death of their mother, three sisters in a college town are stunned to discover they are witches.  Soon this powerful threesome must stand together to fight the everyday and supernatural battles that all modern witches must face: from vanquishing powerful demons to toppling the patriarchy.

Roswell, New Mexico

After reluctantly returning to her tourist-trap hometown of Roswell, New Mexico, the daughter of undocumented immigrants discovers a shocking truth about her teenage crush who is now a police officer: he’s an alien who has kept his unearthly abilities hidden his entire life. She protects his secret as the two reconnect and begin to investigate his origins, but when a violent attack and long-standing government cover-up point to a greater alien presence on Earth, the politics of fear and hatred threaten to expose him and destroy their deepening romance.

Roswell is still one of my favorite series. I own the DVD set and watch randomly just because I was in love with Max Evans. He was the perfect Alien boyfriend. Charmed made me wish I had two sisters so we could do magic together. I never judge a book by its cover, so I will give these remakes a try. Here’s to hoping they will bring back some of the actors as guest spots, cause I would love to see Jason Behr aka Max Evans again.

New Series

The CW is also adding more new supernatural shows to its line up, but sadly not the Supernatural spin-off: Wayward Sisters. They are taking a different route, adding In the DarkAll American, and Legacies.

Here is a little break down of these new series.

All American

When a rising high school football player from South L.A. is recruited to play for Beverly Hills High, the wins, losses and struggles of two families from vastly different worlds — Crenshaw and Beverly Hills — begin to collide. Inspired by the life of pro football player Spencer Paysinger.

Legacies

The story of the next generation of supernatural beings at The Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted. Klaus Mikaelson’s (Joseph Morgan) daughter, 17-year-old Hope Mikaelson; Alaric Saltzman’s (Matt Davis) twins, Lizzie and Josie Saltzman; and other young adults come of age in the most unconventional way possible, nurtured to be their best selves…in spite of their worst impulses. Will these young witches, vampires and werewolves become the heroes they want to be — or the villains they were born to be?

In The Dark

A flawed and irreverent blind woman is the only “witness” to the murder of her drug-dealing friend. After the police dismiss her story, she sets out with her dog, Pretzel, to find the killer while also managing her colorful dating life and the job she hates at the guide dog school owned by her overprotective parents.

These all sound pretty interesting to me. What do you think? Let me know below.
