Star Trek To Return For Fourth Film

Paramount Studios announced today that it plans to make a fourth installment in the Star Trek franchise.  In the next film, Captain Kirk (played by Chris Pine), will cross paths with a man he has never met, but whose legacy precedes him, his father.

It is rumored that Chris Hemsworth will be reprising his role as George Kirk and will be playing alongside Pine.  The rest of the cast is said to also be coming back.  The only person who will be noticeably absent is Anton Yelchin, who unfortunately passed away last month in an automobile accident.

As of now, there has been no information released concerning the name or director of the movie.  J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay will write the screenplay and J.J. Abrams and Lindsey Weber will produce through Bad Robot Productions.

There is no release date as of yet, but if you are a fan, the third installment of the franchise, Star Trek Beyond is set to hit theaters on July 22, 2016.
