Soundtrack Sunday: Labyrinth 1986

Welcome back to Soundtrack Sunday! For my birthday I decided to show you the love of a film that is exceptionally amazing, this film stars David Bowie, Jennifer Connelly and features Jim Henson’s puppet wizardry. Labyrinth has Sarah, a frustrated girl who has to babysit her baby step-brother on yet another weekend, like most Teenagers she has an active imagination and accidentally summons the goblin king from her favourite fantasy novel ‘labyrinth’.

The goblin King hears her summons and takes Toby to his kingdom and Sarah has to navigate through a tricky labyrinth in a restricted time frame, with talking caterpillars, door knockers and riddles and puzzles that would baffle the average person, she makes friends with one goblin to try to save the day!

If you have not seen this film you are missing some great use of Jim Henson and George Lucas’ great works and I urge you to not feel the need to dance and sing to the songs, 5 of which David Bowie composed for the movie! If you have seen it, then you will appreciate some good tunes to make you smile at the end of the day!
