For Soundtrack Sunday this week I have chosen a film that in 2001 was unlike any other I had seen at that point. David Duchovny and Orlando Jones star as two college professors who make an amazing discovery after a meteor lands near the town they live and work in. Inside the meteor was a small organism that slowly starts to evolve and the Alien organism if not contained or stopped could take over the world.
Evolution is a film I love to watch as it has an enormous amount of humour to it. Dr Ira Kane (David Duchovny) a college professor who along with his associate Professor Harry Phineas Block discover new life when a meteor lands in their town. The military come in and stop them from continuing their work and when things start to develop and the organism evolves and spreads into the community, the military start to blame the scientists.
Our two professors are joined by a Fire-fighting cadet who has his value in the situation even though he annoys the life out of the professors, a clumsy female government scientist and two not so bright students who through their image work out how to help in the drastically world ending dilemma.
If you haven’t seen this film I do recommend you see it, it has plenty of laughs and as you will see a catchy soundtrack to accompany it. If you have seen it you know what a good comedy style film this is with a little bit of science thrown in. So I hope you like the tracks that I have chosen to give you an idea of the type of film this is.
