Synopsis

Clary (Katherine McNamara) and Jace (Dominic Sherwood) come up with a risky plan to get rid of her twinning rune, which may bring an old enemy back into the fray. Meanwhile, Alec (Matthew Daddario) is worried about Magnus (Harry Shum Jr.).

Well that synopsis doesn’t do this episode any justice AT ALL. There is SO much to be excited about but also a lot of emotion. Malec fans especially are probably going to want to stock up on tissues before this one because the pre-credits teaser nearly broke me. Get used to that episode title…you’re gonna hear it a lot…

Malec

I just, look, Harry Shum Jr. should be taking home at least one award for his performance in this episode. And as for Matthew Daddario…DAMN. I was taking notes on my phone during the pre-credit sequence and I actually dropped it. I mean. I’ve put my phone down intentionally before to concentrate on scenes…but this one surprised me so hard I fumbled it.

However, that was nothing compared to the raw emotion in some of their scenes this week. Absolutely jaw dropping. Just trust me when I say if you are doing your shopping this weekend you’re going to want to add ice cream as well as extra tissues. But maybe make sure you aren’t eating or drinking anything, and are sitting down for the final scene.

Sizzy

Where are my Sizzy fans at. I know you’re out there, and I am pretty sure you guys are gonna be happy this week. There is a super cute scene between Simon (Alberto Rosende) and Izzy (Emeraude Toubia) that made me go awwwww. Also, can we have three cheers for Weapon Master Isabelle Lightwood cos she’s been working hard behind the scenes. I just wish we could actually see a bit more of her doing that job cos it’d be great.

Siblings

Remember last week, that hilarious moment between Jace and Izzy when she stole his bacon? Well get ready for some more sibling action from those two this week. The climactic fight scene has some epic co-operation between them that had me cheering. The other sibling relationship in the show, Clary and Jonathan (Luke Baines), shows some interesting developments this week, especially after the way Clary was behaving last week.

New Faces

It’s great to see some old favourites return to the Downworld this week (welcome back Anna Hopkins, missed your beautiful face), but it’s also great to see some new faces. In particular there is a moment towards the end of the episode with a new arrival visiting Luke. What happens next is a departure from the books, but had me yelling with delight. It wasn’t a character I ever thought I would see on screen but when I realised what was happening I cheered so loud I scared my bf!

Clace

I know Clace haven’t been getting much time together but they have a couple of scenes this week. Jace’s faith in his girlfriend is unshakeable and it made my heart happy. I can say that there is a really sweet moment between them near the end that reminded me of something in their relationship from 3A.

Shadowhunters – Stay With Me airs on Freeform Monday April 1st at 8pm (7c). It’s then available worldwide on Netflix from Tuesday April 2nd.
