Scott Eastwood wants to play Wolverine!

Now that Hugh Jackman is done with playing Logan aka Wolverine, Pacific Rim star Scott Westwood has said he wants a shot at playing the role!

Logan, released in February 2017, was Hugh Jackman’s final outing playing Wolverine. Logan was a box office hit, and it brought to an end Wolverine’s story after 17 years, 3 solo movies and numerous X-Men movies. The studio now has tough decision on its hands. Do they let Wolverine go to the Marvel retirement home, or do they let a young pup try and fill Jackman’s shoes.

After the Pacific Rim: Uprising panel at New York Comic-Con 2017, ComicBook spoke to one of the film’s stars, Scott Eastwood, and asked the actor what superhero he would like to play. “Weapon X” was Eastwood’s answer. “I mean, Logan!” he replied. “You gotta give it to Wolverine! Wolverine, all day.”

The son of Hollywood legend and Western icon Clint Eastwood, Scott Eastwood had a role in DC’s Suicide Squad as Lieutenant GQ Edwards. He also had roles in Fate of the FuriousSnowdenFury, and Texas Chainsaw 3D.

Though Eastwood would love to play the character in a future film, it’s unclear if such a chance will ever come around. X-Men producer Simon Kinberg has said that Jackman will help them cast the next Wolverine, though the next iteration of the character (if there is one) is something that they haven’t seriously thought about yet. Kinberg has also stated that right now their focus is on exploring other characters in the X-Men Universe, rather than recasting old ones.

Jackman, however, has reaffirmed that Wolverine “will go on” with a new actor. Either way, Fox currently has a full slate of X-Men movies, and it may be some time before recasting Wolverine is put on the table.
