RIP Alan Rickman

Alan Rickman, known for his roles in Harry Potter, Die Hard and Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves has died.

A statement made by the family said:  “The actor and director Alan Rickman has died from cancer at the age of 69.  He was surrounded by family and friends.”

The star began his career in the late 1970’s but didn’t hit stardom until he was cast as Hans Gruber, opposite Bruce Willis, in Die Hard.  Since then, he has gained many fans after playing the role of Severus Snape in the multi-million dollar blockbuster Harry Potter.  Not only has he had a career that has spanned the decades, but he has also taken home many awards for those outstanding performances (including BAFTA, Golden Globe, Emmy and Screen Actors Guild).

He was currently working on Tim Burton’s Alice Through The Looking Glass, where he was the voice of Absolem the Caterpillar.

He is a legend that will be greatly missed.
