As most fans of the Hunger Games saga are no doubt aware, Natalie Dormer is about to grace our screens as tattooed filmmaker Cressida, assigned to document Katniss’ movements as the figurehead of the rebellion.
Probably best known to current TV audiences as scheming noblewoman Margaery Tyrell in Game of Thrones, Dormer admits that the more physical side of Cressida is much more like herself. In an interview with news.com.au the actress says “I am a very physical human being. So to be running around with a gun and in combat gear is much closer to my physical self.”
Earlier this year she competed in the London Marathon and finished in under four hours, apparently good training for Mockingjay, “The cardio training timed really nicely with making the movie, because when you are trying to keep up with Liam Hemsworth and Sam Claflin in big heavy army boots with a semi-automatic rifle, you need that stamina,”
After Mockingjay Part 1 Dormer will be back in familiar corseted territory for Woman in Red, a BBC adaptation of the novel Lady Worsley’s Whim but she adds that straight after that she’ll be getting into a zombie movie so she really does like to mix things up.
