Since the lovely IT deptartment at work has blocked every music streaming site except Spotify, guess what I have been listening to at work?… You guessed it. Spotify. And I have been listening to one station in particular and that is “Work Day Pop”. It is a really random mix of music but it has also opened my ears to new music. And if there is one thing I can’t get enough of in my life, it’s NEW MUSIC!
I thought I would share some of my favorite new music (well, new to me anyways) with you.
First up is Hozier – 24 year old, Ireland-born Andrew Hozier-Byrne has a new fan in me. He has a single out called “Take Care Me to Church” and it is good. The lyrics are awesome. That line is such an old southern saying. My grandpa used to say it to my grandma a lot. Meaning like preach to me, take me there, make me feel what you are feeling. And he does it. I am sold on Hozier and I hope you are too.

Next Up is 26 year old, Swedish-born singer Tove Ebba Elsa Nilsson, aka Tove Lo. I am singing her praise. I have heard a few songs by her and she is great. The lyrics to her current single are comical yet painful. The song is “Habits (Stay High)”. It’s a haunting song about heartbreak and what she has to do to get through her day. We all been there, so let’s go there again.

And last but not least, I give you 26 year old, Canadian Clarie Elise Boucher, aka Grimes. I love her funky style. Its trancey hip hop soulful dance and… yeah, I love it. Her vocals are amazing as well. Great ready to chair dance with me.
