Music Monday – The Grammys 2020
Last night saw the 62nd Annual Recording Academy Awards, aka The Grammys 2020. The music world assembled at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles to find out who would take home the music industry equivalent of the Academy Awards. This Music Monday we decided to take a look at the winners of The Grammys 2020. Below you can find a list of some of the major categories, along with the winners (in bold).
The Grammys 2020 Record of the Year
Hey Ma – Bon Iver
Bad Guy – Billie Eilish
7 Rings – Ariana Grande
Hard Place – H.E.R.
Talk – Khalid
Old Town Road – Lil Nas X
Truth Hurts – Lizzo

Now even if, like me, you haven’t listened to new music since, like, last century, you’ve probably heard the hook from this one.

I,I – Bon Iver

Another huge win for Billie Eilish. She also took home Song Of The Year, Best New Artist, Best Pop Vocal Album, and Best Engineered Album. That’s a huge achievement for 18 year old. If you missed the news recently, she’s just been announced to sing the theme song for the next Bond movie, due out later this year.
Best Pop Solo Performance
Spirit – Beyoncé
Bad Guy – Billie Eilish
7 Rings – Ariana Grande
Truth Hurts – Lizzo
You Need To Calm Down – Taylor Swift
I just took a DNA test, turns out I’m 100% THAT Bitch.
You can’t have failed to see THAT quote (or a variation) somewhere since this track was released. Lizzo also took home the awards for Best Traditional R&B Performance for Jerome, and Best Urban Contemporary Album for Cuz I Love You (Deluxe).
