MEGACON™ ORLANDO WRAPS ANOTHER YEAR OF MULTI-GENRE FUN AND FANDOM AT THE ORANGE COUNTY CONVENTION CENTER MAY 26 – 29 PRESENTED BY FAN EXPO
Orlando, FL – June 2, 2016 – MegaCon™ Orlando 2016, the Southeast’s largest comics, sci-fi, horror, anime and gaming event, wrapped up the convention with over 100,000 in attendance at the Orange County convention Center. The four-day multi-genre convention welcomed fans to revel in panels, shopping, workshops, costume contests and more. This year’s show was packed with exciting activities for fans of all ages and featured celebrity guests including William Shatner (Star Trek), Stan Lee (Comic Book Legend), Nichelle Nichols (Star Trek), John Cusack (Hollywood Icon), Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future), and Tom Felton (Harry Potter), among others.
Highlights from this year’s show include:
Hogwarts Reunion
Harry Potter fans were reunited with stars Tom Felton, Jason Isaacs and the Phelps Twins on Friday evening of MegaCon. The cast shared stories with eager fans throughout the evening.
MegaCon Wedding
A real-life MegaCon wedding took place on Saturday, May 28. Special celebrity guest Elden Henson who starred in The Mighty Ducks and Daredevil, walked the bride down the aisle to kick off the ceremony.
Jay and Silent Bob Reunite!
The hilarious Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes (Jay & Silent Bob) were joined by a room filled with fans on Saturday evening. The duo shared stories, joked around and interacted with fans.
Special Appearance by Comic Legends
Legendary comic creator Stan Lee kicked off the weekend on Thursday with a panel for MegaCon Orlando attendees. Stan Lee then held a special backstage session with a few lucky fans. Frank Miller also made an extremely rare appearance over the weekend alongside the Dark Knight III creative team.
Panels, Photo Ops, Signings, much more
Attendees filled the convention throughout the weekend to meet their favorite legends including Stan Lee, William Shatner, John Cusack, Christopher Lloyd and many more. Panels were held inside the Orange County Convention Center where cosplayers, movie fans, and comic buffs were united under one roof.
EDM After Party
Following the convention, guests continued the fun at an EDM (electronic dance music) party with music by DJ RYU and DJ KORSK ft. KRADNESS with a special appearance by the world’s #1 cosplayer, Alodia.
