Marvel’s Iron Fist adds Carrie-Anne Moss

Marvel’s Iron Fist adds Jessica Jones alum Carrie-Anne Moss to cast.

In their usual low key fashion, Marvel made the announcement via twitter

Clicking the link takes you to Marvel’s homepage announcing that Carrie-Anne Moss will be reprising her role of cut-throat lawyer Jeri Hogarth in the Marvel’s Iron Fist series.

Exec producer and show runner Scott says,

“Danny Rand lives in the highest stratosphere of New York’s business society and he’s going to need a ruthless lawyer to help him navigate this alien world,”

In Marvel’s Iron Fist, Danny Rand returns to New York City after being missing for years, trying to reconnect with his past and his family legacy. He fights against the criminal element corrupting his world around him with his incredible kung-fu mastery and ability to summon the awesome power of the fiery Iron Fist. He’s also got to deal with the fact that the Meachum family have taken over his family business and he now wants it back.

Hogarth provides an interesting link to the rest of the Defenders line up, we saw her regularly in Marvel’s Jessica Jones, and she made a brief appearance in the second season of Marvel’s Daredevil in charge of the law firm that offered Foggy a job. Will we see her pop up in Marvel’s Luke Cage too? That remains to be seen.

Moss, probably best known before now for her role as Trinity in The Matrix trilogy, joins Finn Jones (Game of Thrones) as the titular hero and a cast rounded out by David Wenham (The Lord of the Rings, 300), Jessica Stroup (The Following), Jessica Henwick (Game of Thrones) and Tom Pelphrey (Banshee).

There’s still not date for when Marvel’s Iron Fist will hit Netflix, but as soon as we hear, we will let you guys know.
