According to various reports we have seen it seems that Marvel and Netflix are planning to announce a Punisher series which will spin off from Daredevil season 2.
This would be the first show from the Marvel/Netflix collaboration that wasn’t originally planned as part of the Defenders storyline (Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist) and seems to be based on interviews with various execs enthusing about Jon Bernthal’s portrayal of the vengeance-fuelled vigilante in the up-coming Daredevil second season. Marvel TV Executive Vice President Jeph Loeb told ComicBook.com “Punisher is extraordinarily memorable, in every way.”
Our first look at Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle will come when season 2 of Daredevil hits Netflix on March 18th. Season 2 once more stars Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson along with another newcomer, Elodie Yung as Elektra Natchios.
If and when we get confirmation on this one we will bring it straight to you, and since it’s Netflix day at the TCAs today there might well be more to come.
