Manifest : Tailspin Round Table Review

We are back with another round table review for Manifest Season 3 Episode 4 called “Tailspin”. Joining me (Rike) on this one are Mandy and Anna Maria. Are you guys ready? Let’s do this!

Manifest: Tailspin Synopsis

Ben (Josh Dallas) and Saanvi (Parveen Kaur) join forces with Vance (Daryl Edwards) in his newest venture to understand Flight 828. Michaela (Melissa Roxburgh) and Zeke (Matt Long) adjust to their new home life while aiding a non-passenger with a looming death date of their own.

Your opinion about this episode in general?

M: I liked this episode but I was also confused half of the time. I felt so lost during the scientifical parts. Science and I are not friends haha. Also Kelly Taylor (Julienne Hanzelka Kim) being in the tank had me completely shocked. I did not see that coming at all. I am very curious if the meth heads are going to survive the callings and the death date and what the heck exactly happened on that flight. At least we know now that they died on that flight and were resurrected. Also Angelina (Holly Taylor) convincing Olive (Luna Blaise) to go to her prom was so sweet and kind of her. Their friendship is truly amazing to see. I did miss Grace (Athena Karkanis) this episode though but luckily we’ll get to see more of her next episode.

AM: It was good. I do like how the callings make people do morally good things, like revealing the coach that forced those kids to sell drugs. Also I like that they finally revealed how they actually died on that flight and were resurrected. The research going on in that lab is both scary and interesting, and I’m looking forward to the next episodes.

R: I couldn’t agree more Mandy. I was so confused throughout the whole episode – I am confused every single episode, but this one was extra special. Anyways, another great performance from everyone involved. Great acting and a good job with leaving me in the dark again. But it’s all going to be worth it in the end. Hopefully. Can’t wait for the next episodes!

The tailfin vanished on the same day Saanvi killed the major. Thoughts?

R: It’s all connected, you know? So every time a passenger does something pretty bad, there’ll be consequences. Who knows what’s going to happen once the whole plane disappears again? To be honest, I don’t really want to know. But it’s a fact that everything they do, think and say has consequences sooner or later, right? But no one is perfect… so let’s see.

AM: This is definitely not a coincidence. It might be some sort of punishment for what she did. I do like all the connections between the characters and events like that happening.

M: It’s interesting. If a passenger takes a life does that mean a piece of the plane disappears every time? As if they are being punished by the plane for their actions. Or is it a mild coincidence. I am conflicted.

Saanvi changed the “team”. Is that a good or a bad thing – considering the fact that they have a passenger’s corpse on ice?

AM: I’m thinking both. It will be nice to have her at “the inside”, but also she will be working with some shady stuff ethically. Hopefully she won’t lose the moral compass she has, and not cross borders that shouldn’t be crossed.

M: I think it’s a good thing. She can keep an eye on things happening there and get inside information. Keep your friends close, but keep your enemies closer.

R: At first I didn’t like the idea of Saanvi working for someone else now. But maybe it’s a good time for a change of scenery now with everything going on. It might be helpful, you know, for her. I just want the best for Saanvi. That’s all.

Vasquez (J.R. Ramirez) is getting too close to the truth. What’s going to happen to him?

M: They better don’t do Jared any harm. I swear if they touch Jared I will be throwing hands. Maybe he’s going to be interrogated maybe but I think Vance might take him in the team. I don’t think they’d kill off Jared that easily.

R: I agree with you Mandy. They definitely won’t end him. But maybe they’ll teach him a lesson and show the limits. Just a little fight and some words as a start? Like a little warning to stop him?

AM: Gosh, I will be pissed if they do something bad to him. They don’t dare to kill him. Maybe he will be interrogated or something, or maybe tell him the truth if he promise to keep it secret.

Your final score for this episode:

R: It was a good episode, but this whole Eureka stuff is even more confusing. 7.

M: I liked it but I felt so lost during the scientifical parts so I will give it a 7,5.

AM: I’ll give it a 7.
