Lucifer, Rosewood Renewed For Season 2 By Fox, Who’s Still On the Bubble?
Fox has given the green-light for second season pickups to freshman dramas Lucifer and Rosewood. The two join horror comedy anthology Scream Queens as the three first-year Fox series to secure renewals so far.
Fox’s returning series, Empire, Gotham, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Last Man On Earth and Bones have been renewed, with Fox’s animated lineup expected to come back. Of the rest, comedy New Girl had been in talks for a renewal, possibly for two seasons, and drama Sleepy Hollow is very much in contention.
Lucifer, produced by Warner Bros. TV and Jerry Bruckheimer TV, is based on characters created by Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth and Mike Dringenberg for DC Entertainment’s Vertigo imprint. Tom Kapinos wrote and executive-produced the pilot and is an executive consultant on the series. It is executive-produced by Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman, Ildy Modrovich and Joe Henderson. Len Wiseman serves as director and executive producer. Tom Ellis, Lauren German, Lesley-Ann Brandt and Kevin Alejandro star.
“We knew we had something special with Lucifer, from the engaging performances of Tom, Lauren and the rest of the charismatic cast, to Len Wiseman’s visually stunning look of the show and the amazing storytelling savvy of the Bruckheimer team,” said Fox’s David Madden.
“With Rosewood, creator Todd Harthan has put a fresh, playful spin on the procedural format, infusing it with wit and warmth, while Morris, Jaina and the show’s gifted supporting cast have turned in fantastic performances.”
To recap… We get Tom (smexy) Ellis for another season!! Time to rejoice little devils! I can’t wait to see more interaction between Lucifer and Maze (Lesley-Ann Brandt) along with Chloe Decker (Lauren German) and who can resist Trixie (Scarlett Estevez) we know Lucifer can’t. I know season one isn’t over but is it wrong I am counting down for season 2 already?
