FIRST LOOK: Claire Marries Jamie on Outlander (PHOTOS)

Here comes the bride!

It’s the episode every fan of Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander series has been waiting for: This Saturday, after countless lingering stares in low candlelight and nigh unbearable sexual tension, Claire Randall (Caitriona Balfe) finally, finally ties the knot with Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) on the Starz show.

Their journey to this moment hasn’t been easy. Since Claire was transported back in time to 1743 in the series’ premiere, she’s been held captive, beaten and nearly raped.  We’ve watched flashbacks of the love she has for her husband, and the attraction she has for Jamie, and the conflicts going on within herself.

Her multiple attempts to make it back to the standing stones at Craig na Dun may have failed as well, but there is one light in Claire’s life: the redheaded Scottish hunk known as Jamie

While Claire has struggled to become accepted among Clan Mackenzie, Jamie has always been kind to her, bringing her food and sleeping outside her door to protect her.

But thanks to the troubling times and politics between the English and the Scots, as evidenced in last Saturday’s episode, Claire and Jamie’s thus-far platonic relationship is about to get a whole lot hotter as they are forced to marry to keep Claire out of the hands of the English.

We are thankful that lovely folks at People.com have exclusive photos of our faves from Outlander and the upcoming wedding.
